Star Wars week continues as The Rise of Skywalker is dominating multiplexes and the film discourse. It seems like there's been a massive reprise for Stephen King content the past couple years. With both chapters of IT being massive theatrical successes and some of his written properties being translated to television and Netflix, there has been no shortage of new things for us to enjoy as fans. Now, it's been announced that his sequel to The Shining will be seeing a super long director's cut when it gets released on streaming on January 21st and blu-ray on February 4th. The new cut will be extended to 180 minutes which is 28 minutes longer than the theatrical version. It will also be available on 4K UHD in February. After the financial failure of the 2017 Power Rangers movie, the future was unclear. Although it was actually a pretty cool retread for the popular brand, it didn't really receive the hype that it deserved and died a quick cinematic death due to low box office returns. After an awesome five weeks that really set up the core idea, The Mandalorian is back this week with another action packed episode. Picking up right after chapter five, The Prisoner sees our armor clad bounty hunter joining forces with a pack of unruly galactic mercenaries on the prowl for a new package. What unravels is another slick entry in the continuing saga of Mando and his little friend, Baby Yoda. Although, they begin to sidestep some of the core elements that made the first few episodes so grand, it remains some of the best Star Wars projects we've had since Rogue One.
