November Mood Board: Rainbow Playroom

Posted By StephPurcell 156 days ago on Home Decor

https://www.redesignedclassics.com - This month’s mood board is for the kids! I was given a project to help create a functional playroom space for two little girls and it was so much fun! For this design I wanted to use lots of fun vibrant colors and incorporate the girls’ love of unicorns and dinosaurs. To give the room some extra whimsy I suggest a cloud wallpaper on the ceiling with bright white wall paint. I wanted to separate the room into different areas with the help of rugs and decor. The center of the room can be anchored by a table and chairs with a large ombre rainbow area rug underneath. Bookcases and bookshelves can easily line a wall and allow for ample storage while also allowing for a great place to read and stretch out. I added a smaller area rug with clouds to mimic the ceiling and added floor pillows with a basket for blankets. These items can also be pulled over easily enough for use in front of a TV. The play kitchen can be set up in a corner with hooks for aprons and towels. In an opposite corner I suggest a stage and dress up area for performing, complete with a dressing screen and floor lamp with globe lights that are reminiscent of stage lights.
