Several weeks ago it was announced that Paramount was developing a new adaptation of The Man Who Fell To Earth for Showtime. Based on the Walter Tevis novel of the same time it was previously a film starring David Bowie in the lead role. Now dramatic actor Chiwetel Ejiofor will take up the main character in the series for the cable outlet. The story focuses on an alien that lands on Earth and is forced to confront his own being and humanity's future. At 90 years old, Clint Eastwood shows no signs of slowing down. The actor and director is currently working on his next project, Cry Macho. This weekend saw the four hour cut of Snyder's film take the internet by storm and has given HBO Max its biggest hit to date. Director Kim Jee-Woon, director of I Saw The Devil and A Tale of Two Sisters is currently working on adapting the webtoon Dr. Brain for Apple TV as a brand new science fiction series. He will be writing and directing the project for the streaming outlet with Parasite actor Lee Sun-Kyun taking up a starring role for the show. As The Duffer Bros. begin to wind down work on their final, extended season of the hit show Stranger Things, it looks like they're officially beginning to develop a new project for Netflix. The pair have now signed a deal alongside Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment to turn Stephen King's The Talisman into a new series on the streaming outlet. Paramount Television Studios is actively pushing to adapt the book as a multi-season show on the streamer. Stranger Things writer and executive producer Curtis Gwinn will be writing and serving as the showrunner on the series. This weekend saw Disney's latest animated release, Raya and The Last Dragon take a foothold in the domestic U.S. box office with it's $8.6 million take but it still is only a shade of what it would have done in normal times.A big animation hit for that studio would typically take in much higher opening grosses.
