Viewing Skyward by Keith R Wahl, Made From RI Gallery

Where do our ideas of where to take a hike originate? A variety of places. One favorite is Trails and Walks In Rhode Island. Sometimes it is a book or two that we carry at our Made From RI venture. Still, another is prior experience. When we only have a little time on a day, we go by something that we have had contact with and want to explore further.
This trip to Browning Woods Farm Trail is such a case. Browning Woods Farm Trail is part of the South Kingstown Land Trust. Our sons are scouts and are often prevailed upon for a variety of projects. Building out accessibility to these trails has been one of those projects.
So here we are on a family outing on a Saturday afternoon. We look upward. This is where the wonder comes in. It stopped me dead in my tracks. A series of trees stripped bare amongst the evergreens. From a compositional perspective, it was amazing with all trunks pointing skyward. From a naturalist of scientific perspective, there is a question of why this was to research.
This highlights the wonder of walking in nature. It often leaves us in wonder and wondering in the same instance. And this is why we will return to explore even further.
