Standing on the point at Spinks Neck Beach, viewing to the north at the West Passage of Narragansett Bay. There are landmarks galore. Calf Pasture Point, Warwick Neck, Patience, and Prudence Islands.



But what frames the scene are the rocks of the point and the clouds above. The clouds flow as markers of the rivers of wind in the spring air. Soon, the tide will change and that wind will face the tide, churning up chop on the water. This is the nature of Narragansett Bay; statics and dynamics always in dramatic play.
