, , Ferdinand Marcos is the longest-tenured president in Philippine history.,   He was in command for over 20 years and the only one to have declared martial law to continue to remain in power.  His other half, former First Lady Imelda Marcos, was an equally colourful character.  Aside from the thousands of shoes she owns, she is also known for the different structures  s, he helped build to promote Philippine tourism., ,
, , ,
, , One of these structures is the Manila Film Center.,   It was the site of the first Manila International Film Festival which was attended by some of the popular names in Hollywood like Ben Kingsley, George Hamilton, and Robert Duvall.  But before all of the glitz and glamour, tragedy struck while the structure was under construction., ,
, , On November 17, 1981, during construction, its scaffolding collapsed and buried a number of workers inside.,   The number of casualties was quite inconsistent from various accounts because of the media control during martial law.  Most accounts say that there were 169 workers hurt and that more than 10 died.  What makes this controversial is that due to the urgency of construction because the film festi, val were just months away, some of the workers were allegedly left buried alive in hot cement., ,
, , The place has been a haven for paranormal experts and ghost hunters who can apparently communicate with the dead workers whose spirits were supposed to be trapped inside.,   The place has been said to be haunted based on eyewitness accounts of people who apparently saw ghostly apparitions right in its vicinity., ,
