http://www.spoilerfreemoviesleuth.com - Ready or not, the movies are back. The popcorn is being popped and Marvel movies are making their way back to theaters. Earlier this week, Marvel Studios dropped a sizzle reel of coming attractions for fans while offering a look back at some iconic Marvel movie moments. We got a glimpse of when will see Black Widow, Eternals, and Shang-Chi on the big screen. We even got a taste of Marvel Studios take on Fantastic Four. The only film that was missing from the reel was Blade. And insiders have started to tell us why. You might remember way back in 2019, Blade was first announced as a major surprise during Marvel Studios' massive presentation at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019. Mahershala Ali came out on stage and closed out the panel. Updates have been few and far between since besides the fact that Stacy Osei-Kuffour was brought on to write the screenplay.Buried in a Hollywood Reporter article about WB's new take on Superman, we learned more about the status of Blade. The report recently detailed what is going on behind the scenes at Warner Bros as they put together a new Superman movie that will feature a Black version of the character. As it turns out, Warner Bros. and Disney/Marvel Studios have some of the same directors for both this new Superman and Blade on their respective wishlists. Filmmakers like Shaka King, Regina King, Barry Jenkins, and J.D. Dillard are being considered for both projects.Blade is targeting a July 2022 filming start. Originally, it was aiming for a September start but the studio is taking time to get the script just right.  (function() { var zergnet = document.createElement('script'); zergnet.type = 'text/javascript'; zergnet.async = true; zergnet.src = (document.location.protocol == "https:" ? "https:" : "http:") + '//www.zergnet.com/zerg.js?id=59239'; var znscr = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; znscr.parentNode.insertBefore(zergnet, znscr); })();
