Amidst death threats which have forced many Australian climate scientists into hiding, the Australian Government realeased a report yesterday outlining the risks posed by climate change to coastal infrasctucture. 247,000 residential buildings, as well as landmarks such as the Great Barrier Reef, are at risk of substantial damage unless a comprehensive global warming agreeement is reached in the near future. As a side note, the Kyoto Agreement, which set caps on global emissions through 2012, is set to expire and the U.N. recently stated that another agreement can't be reached given the current time frame.
