5 WAYS TO COPE WITH ANXIETY AND DEPRESSING SITUATIONS

https://www.creativeextraordinaire.com - The corona virus outbreak makes those apocalyptic Hollywood stories not far-fetched anymore, it is like we are living a live horror movie. The world is at a standstill, these are certainly unprecedented moments and we are left at our devices feeling hopeless and helpless. I, nonetheless want to share a few words of encouragement and ways we can use to deal with overwhelm. 1. LIMIT YOUR NEWS INTAKE: we all need to stay informed but, I would suggest that you limit your news intake to morning and evening and spend the day focusing on other productive or relaxing activities. 2. PRAY/MEDITATE: seeking God in times of uncertainty and committing your future into His hands will grant you the peace of mind and perspective that you will need to weather this storm. Ask for help, for guidance, for protection. My favorite bible scripture at the moment is Psalm 91, I will read the first two verses: "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” Recommit this to God and let Him lead you. 3. HONE YOUR SKILLS: take online classes, start planning for the project that you have been postponing, read, research, etc. 4. USE THIS TIME TO RE-ASSESS: your priorities and set a plan of action in place, get crystal clear about what you want for your life. Maintain a productive schedule: remain self-motivated and disciplined, keep a work schedule. 5. BE PRESENT: be here and now, re-connect with loved through phone, video calls, write them emails. So here it is friend, take heart and be encouraged.
