33 Famous Movie Stills Broken Down Into 7-Color Palettes

She derives light, medium and dark color palettes from movie stills and merges them into a 21-color spectrum. The idea came to her while watching Skyfall (2012) when she was intrigued by the cinematography of the film. After creating a color palette for the movie she decided to start a blog, which now comprises of a whopping 388 movie stills covering the past 75 years. Here are some famous ones:



This is a pretty neat post, interesting concept that's for sure, I wonder if it had anything to do with the movie and it's success. If it did, I'm sure it's only a slight factor if anything. We all know, color doesn't make a good movie, but it helps a lot.


Good points @bbrian017. Color palettes are the building blocks when it comes to art direction and cinematography. But a movie's success depends on a variety of other factors as well.
