Hi everyone and welcome to the first ever Blog Engage Blogger Spotlight Contest for July 2011.
Blog Engage will launching a new contest every 30 days until the end of 2011. On the fifteenth of each month we will announce the previous months winners and award all the cash prizes.
Something new you will probably enjoy about our contest is we no longer require you to write an article on your blog with all our sponsor links. We do however offer 500 bonus points for anyone that writes about the contest and the Blog Engage community on their blog.

How does it work?
When you write Blogger Spotlights about our sponsors on your blog or the here on Blog Engage community blog you earn points towards our top prizes. What you will do is Spotlight these Bloggers on your blog or the Blog Engage community blog as if they were commercials to your readers.

These are not sponsor reviews they are Blogger Spotlights. We only want you to inform your readers about their products/services being offered and contact information such as Facebook, Twitter and Website urls. You are not obligated or limited to providing any positive experience, again these are not sponsor reviews they are Blogger Spotlights.
Blog Engage Blogger Spotlights
The contestants that participate in our Blogger Spotlight Contests will be judged on the quality and quantity of blogger spotlights they do. Our contestants can write Blogger Spotlights on both the Blog Engage Community Blog or their own blog. In the list below you will see three categories of available Blogger Spotlights, Business, Platinum and Gold.
In order to win the contest you must write as many Blogger Spotlights as possible and maintain the highest of standards for written content and Blogger Spotlight Research. You will be judged by the quantity and quality of your Blogger Spotlights.
You must research the blogger and promote what they do on their blog to your readers or our readers here on the community blog. What we want to do is encourage our readers that visiting our customers blogs is beneficial and educational.
1. The content about our Blogger Spotlights must be unique
2. The article must contain Social Media Profiles
3. The links must be do follow
4. Market and Promote your Spotlights on social networks
5. Information regarding their blog
6. Information regarding their blog content
7. Links to internal pages and their home page
8. Features and benefits of visiting the blog and becoming a reader
Business Spotlights hold top importance in our Blogger Spotlight Contests. You, our Blogging Contestants are given 150 points for each individual Spotlight you do. These points are used towards winning our Spotlight Contests. Spotlights can be done on our community blog or your own.
Platinum Spotlights hold second top importance in our Blogger Spotlight Contests. You, our Blogger Spotlight Contestants are given 100 points for each individual Spotlight you do. These points are used towards winning our Spotlight Contests. Spotlights can be done on our community blog or your own.
Gold Spotlights hold third top importance in our Blogger Spotlight Contests . You, our Blogger Spotlight Contestants are given 50 points for each individual Spotlight you do. These points are used towards winning our Spotlight Contests. Spotlights can be done on our community blog or your own.
You have 45 days to write as many Blogger Spotlights as you can and when it’s all said and done I will tally up the points for each contestant and determine who the top winners are. Gaining full points on a blogger spotlight will be determined by the amount of research and quality information each Blogger Spotlight has. Below is a list of all the blogger we have available for you to spotlight!

How to get started
Register for an account here and fill out your bio info. Please note this is separate account compared to your initial Blog Engage account. Also please get a gravatar if you don’t have one. Contact me admin (@) blogengage dot com letting me know your username and I will upgrade your account.
Login to our WordPress back end, write your Blogger Spotlight and submit it for pending review. At this time you can also e-mail me your article about our contest including our sponsors links. Once your Blogger Spotlight is published on Blog Engage you can start marketing and promoting it.
Blogger Spotlight Guidelines and Specifics
1. Blogger Spotlights must be at least 450 words, not to exceed 1300 words.
2. You may have as many links as you wish in the body of the article. However, please limit links to your projects or websites to your bio. Absolutely no affiliate links allowed.
3. Your bio must have a Gravatar. Please use a picture of yourself and not a logo.
4. Spread the word about your Blogger Spotlight through all your social media channels: Twitter, Blog Engage, Facebook, , etc. A high value will be placed on number of Tweets and overall social media promotion. E-mail all your sponsor reviews to admin (@) blog engage dot com immediately after publishing them on your blog or our communtiy blog.
Payment Information
All awards and prizes will be delivered 15 days after the contest is closed. As already stated a valid PayPal account will be needed to accept any money prizes.
Earn Bonus Points Now!
If you add our sidebar banner to your blog we will award you bonus points for the contest. Please help us build a strong community and add it up top nice and high for everyone to see! Simply copy and paste it into your sidebar for the duration of the contest. 500 bonus points for the 300 by 250, 300 points for the 468 by 60 and 100 points for the 125 by 125.

Hi Ileane, I think this contest will be pretty neat. First of all you no longer have to post about the sponsors on your blog with all the links. I think our blogging members readers will be happy about that. Also you get to write reviews on our communtiy blog or your own blog. Argie, what we want you to do is write about our sponsors similar to what you have done in the past but this time you can do it on both the blog engage blog and your own blog it’s up to you. Nothing has changed we just don’t want to call them reviews anymore.

Hi Argie, It’s very important to submit all your Blogger Spotlights to your favorite social networks. I’m not going to be giving points regarding how many tweets and votes etc… But I will be giving points for spotlights that have been submitted. The thing is I wanted to change the importance of social bookmarking. The most important aspect of our contest from here on out is the Blogger Spotlights.

This is a good Idea, but you just use another name coz in the bottom line the participants must read a reviews (you said spotlight), with all the links for the blogger I write I think that is more like link post

After careful consideration I’ve decided it’s in the best interest of my custoemr to longer do this for SEO reasons as it has no benefit and probably looks like farm spam linking. Hello Sandipan Mukherjee, you don’t have to sign up to our blog if you don’t plan on writing any spotlights here. We do however give our members the opportunity to spotlight our customers here or on your blog. Whatever you feel most conformable doing is fine with me.
I have upgraded your account so you can post spotlights here on our blog or on yours. The decision is up to you. Naturally posting them on your own blog will give you a better chance of maximizing your spotlight points.
