Brian, this is going to blow the socks off the blogging community. What a fantastic idea, and I’m really pleased to be a part of it. This is the first time I ever saw any kind of contest where the sponsor didn’t need to contribute money or prizes. All we needed to do is what we’ve been doing already – support YOU!!
Oh yeah, I almost forgot, AND we get to enter the contest too!??! Unheard of – to say the least. Super-sweet, thats all I can say!!

Okay so I am a little confused, I know we write an article on our blog about the BE contest, but is that the article that gets ranked, or do we also have to write a guest article on BE and that is the article we are trying to win with?

When you enter these contests your building blog awareness, and building relationships with people in our community. There’s more benefits to guest blogging then cash. I encourage you to participate just for the experience and brand development! Get yourself out there and build some online blogging relationships. Guest blogging is the perfect way of doing that.

Wooot! Brian, I am so happy you made it to your goals – almost 500 comments.

You worked hard for it, you deserve it – you’re a great connector and that worked well for you. The response was awesome, in such a short time.

BTW, that was a generous one there – the sponsorship for every BE member that commented.

Thanks man and all the best!

Looks I’ll have to be burning more midnight oil. Definitely getting into this one before May to capitalize on the extra 150 points. Hopefully after building all these mobile landing pages for others, I should be able to squeeze a contest entry in somewhere.

    Thanks for the sponsorship Brian.

Because of all the buzz in the blogosphere right now about blog engage and my recent famousbloggers contest this might be the largest guest blogging contest in the history of blogengage. I would strongly suggest trying not to miss out on this one. Also look at the sponsors list, how can you say no to so many familiar faces?

Sarah recently posted..Designing a Blog isnt Rocket Science

    • (April 17, 2011 at 4:17 pm) | Permalink

Hi Sarah, no question is a stupid question. If fact I’m going to add this into the contest post! This is a great question and many members might be asking the same thing.

If our contestants take one of our sponsors websites and do a review on them, their content, their web design or anything about them in any promotional way or matter the contestant will get bonus points for the contest article. If the contestants review is unique they will get maximum points, if they copy or duplicate content in anyway points will be reduced to slightly below maximum.

The reason I say this is I’ve noticed in past contests I’ve entered members were simply copying and pasting content from the sponsors about us page and calling it a review. I don’t want that to happen to our sponsors reviews.

What I want our members to do is to pick a blogger and actually get to know them. We have tons of bloggers on this list that are very talented and interesting people! This is actually my favorite aspect of our contest and I can’t wait to see some sponsor reviews!

This is bringing the blogospere together that’s for sure! Have a look at some of our sponsors I bet you can do a few reviews without even trying hard. I know I could personally write 20 sponsors eviews on some of these bloggers listed here with pleasure because they are all great people and so talented!

So in the end a sponsors review is simply an article about one of our sponsors linking to their website.

Hi Brian, that’s so cool, because I was just thinking the other day about how I could feature some bloggers on my blog! Perfect timing! I wonder though, would it be acceptable if I were to combine several reviews into one article? For example, I could write an article called “5 Awesome Bloggers” or something. This is the original idea I had in mind, but I don’t know if that could count toward multiple sponsor reviews…?
Sarah recently posted..Designing a Blog isnt Rocket Science

        • (April 17, 2011 at 7:04 pm) | Permalink

I think that’s 100% acceptable! I actually think it’s a great way to mix it up and help promote our sponsors together. I don’t really know how I would do the points on that. I wonder if it should be full points or maybe a 7 out of 10 thing because you only wrote one article as opposed to someone who might write five. Okay I think it’s okay to do and will get you bonus points I just have to think how I will add them. I mean if it’s a great article with all the sponsors I don’t see why you shouldn’t t get full points. I will have to base the points on an article by article basis based on the quality of the article submitted. Does that sound fair?

Hi Brian, here I come with another question! LOL

I’m about to submit my guest article, but I’ve confused about adding links. You say that we can put as many links as we want in an article, but is it okay if I put links to some of my articles on my blog as long as their related to what I’m talking about? For example, if I’m talking about Twitter, can I link to an article on my blog about Twitter?

    Thanks! :)
