I found the hardest thing was getting people to comment, same as previous articles. Holly you excel in getting people to comment, Abhi excels in getting facebook interaction and comments, and I think I had the most Twitter shares. I think this clearly shows where our networking strengths are

It clearly shows it after several rounds, Justin, that’s for sure. One entry could be just a fluke, you know? But after 3, 4, 5 rounds, it does become apparent what each contender’s strengths (and maybe their comfort zones) are. We learned a lot of these things during Weblogbetter’s Surviving the Blog Contest, last year – during 10 weeks of team-building and competition, each team learns its own (and the other’s) strengths and weaknesses. It’s good that there are caps on each type of social share (lest anyone be tempted to push the limits of obnoxiousness far past what’s socially acceptable even in blogging circles) and it’s good that there’s a certain level of “value add” and real interaction required in comments, lest we all be reduced to blathering at each other! Honestly, I find the conversations fun. I like writing (and when it’s interactive, I think of it as “talking with my hands”). So of course it’s easy for me to get comments – but Hajra and Abhi can give me a run for my money in that department. (I like to think, in Abhi’s case, it’s because I coached him so well in his first contest! Now he uses all that against me!) Hajra can charm the birds out of the trees and have her competitors willingly conceding points in their zeal to comment on her posts – I know, because that’s exactly how she and I met and became friends! You have a huge network of followers – maybe if you wrote each of them a personalized, extemporaneous poem for commenting on your entries, you’d have that aspect nailed, Justin!
The giveaways don’t hurt – like Hajra with her charm and commenting skills, you get even your competitors working for you as they want to win the prizes, too! LOL

The problem is time, I have so little networking time for my blogging activities, I just write posts at nights/weekends and do a couple of Twitter/Facebook socials during breaks/lunch. My day job really consumes 55 hours a week, my wife and kids the rest. This is why blogging is only a hobby for me.
I am still glad to get 3rd place and the prize money will fund the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 I am giving away to a lucky reader at the end of the month. So basically with this BE contest prize money and my sponsors, I paid almost nothing out of pocket to giveaway an Xbox360 or PlayStation 3 which is great.

I cleared my entry method options with Brian, I would not have done anything to violate rules. I did the same with my iPad giveaway in the previous contest and you won that one as well. So it isn’t a sure thing and only serves to keep the challenge alive. I don’t pay for votes and entries are a long shot, they are inventives and an arsenal use like vote exchanges…etc.
