As many of you know Blog Engage will be hosting a contest each month for the remainder of 2011. The details of these contests will change as our RSS and Contest Sponsorship grows.

That’s not what this article is about. What I wanted to do in the article is confirm how the contest works. Our contest lasts a total of 45 days. We start on the first of each month, we stop accepting new contest articles on the 30th and then allow our member to earn points until the 15th.

So FYI our contest doesn’t just stop on the 30th. This is your chance to write those extra reviews and gain new points. As you can clearly see without writing reviews it’s nearly impossible to win our contest.

I have some new ideas for our next contest in July and will be adding a new element to the system. I think our members are going to enjoy the new changes and will help you all earn more money.

I wanted to put together an article that could explain to our members why they weren’t going to be winning any of our contests.

I’m hoping our readers leave with a good idea on what’s needed to win our guest blogging contests.

It’s a lot of work and dedication to win these contests so don’t feel down on yourself. All you can do is try your hardest but hey I’ve been more then fair to everyone. I’ve created many possible ways for our members to engage and win cash.

Without further ado here are the top 5 reasons you’re not going to win our guest blogging contests.

1. Your not submitting your guest post to Blog Engage, Twitter, Linked in and Facebook. You have to pay close attention to this because if done right you could earn a total of 1250 points between Twitter, Linked in and Facebook. Remember points for Blog Engage votes are unlimited maximum.

2. You’re not writing any sponsor reviews. I’ll be very honest if you don’t write any sponsor reviews you have already lost. Many of our top contestants have already written sponsor reviews and you should be as well. Start with the business sponsors and then move down the list accordingly. You must write these reviews to maximize your chances of winning our top prizes. (For this current contest #2 sponsor reviews are all equal)

3. Your article has no interest to our members and is off topic. So far I’ve seen some great articles so I don’t think this has happened yet. Try to stay on target and write content our blogging members will enjoy. Stay focused and write articles that would engage other bloggers in our community.

4. No community engagement. You must discuss your article with people on both the Blog Engage main site and here in the comments section. Every comment you get on your articles Blog Engage story page earns you one point. Though comments on your article are much more important why miss out on other opportunities? Make sure to engage with bloggers on both sections to maximize your points.

5. make sure your sponsor reviews are linking to important pages and using the proper keywords for that sponsors website. I’ll tell you right now I’m very serious about our sponsor reviews and if you want to earn and win our contests then pay close attention to these finer details. make sure all your contest is unique and you will get maximum points.

I wanted to write an article that would help our members better understand how to maximize their points when writing reviews of our contest sponsors.

What I want to stress is our contest sponsors are the most important aspect of our guest blogging contests. Writing these reviews for them should be taken very seriously and written with much attention and care.

When writing a review about our sponsors make sure to visit their website and learn what they do. Write an article that will benefit them and not you. Remember this is a review article about someone who’s going to be paying our contestants so naturally the more work you put into a review the more points you will get.

Proper Links

If you want to get top bonus points for your reviews make sure to link directly to our sponsors website page. Include internal links to their product pages and services pages. Pay close attention to what they consider to be important pages on their website.

Internal Links

Make sure when writing your article you tag their link using targeted keywords found on their website. Try to use keywords they are trying to rank high for. The importance of proper SEO is key to getting maximum bonus points.

Avoid the Obvious

Try not to make your posts look like a review! Avoid using words such as contest review, blog engage contest review or even the word review! Using terms like this will result in a less then perfect score per review article. Adding keywords that our sponsors want in your topic titles is a good way of ensuring you get maximum bonus points for all your articles.
