After a few days of fixing code and testing the website I can confirm (hopefully) the site is back up and running as it should on a normal day’s basis. I have some minor text and description fixes to complete but the functionality of our website is perfect.
The Captcha on comments and story submission is working which will help slow down the comments and story spam. As you know from being a member here at blogengage we aren’t subject to much spam anyways. None the less all improvements should be noted.
Guest Bloggers Wanted
Our guest blogging has been fun to say the least. I had to disapprove many articles as they were of extremely low quality. Unfortunately this comes with the territory. If you however feel you can add value to our social blog and community don’t hesitate to contact me to set up your contributor account. (more…)
I’ve been making some changes here on the website and have received some feedback on issues our members have been experiencing. I ask all our members that are active on a daily basis to report anything that isn’t working properly. Without reporting the issue it may never get fixed so if it’s bugging you and isn’t working please post a comment and let me know.
We are currently running the latest version of our software. I know we have some registration issues along with some submission issues but this should all be fixed as of now. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused our members. I’m not in good books with the developer of this software so every change I make I stand alone in fixing any bugs.
Most of the updates had to do with bug fixes from what I can tell and apparently they have added new Captcha functionality that doesn’t appear to work on the submit a story page. I’m not sure if this is a Pligg bug or if this is created and caused by Captcha themselves. It seems after trial and error that you can escape Captcha assuming you have the right letters. Meaning you can add more of the same letter and it will still approve your submissions. If the Captcha is “people places” you can still pass it by typing “peeooplllle “plllaccceesss”.
I’m still working on this but needless to say this only affects my in box as all submissions are still approved by me first. So in general this means you are still free of spam in our amazing spam free community.
I have also noticed an issue when trying to leave a comment. They are not being sent for approval nor are they actually saving in the database. I’m not sure if this is template related or if it’s pligg related but I am however looking into the issue so please take note.
So to restate if you have any issues on site please report them by posting a comment below.

If you haven’t noticed I’ve made some slight changes around the community. I like to keep things fresh and clean so I make cosmetic changes. First as you must have noticed we got a new blogengage banner image. Kevin Tan from Internet Marketing Entrepreneur made in exchange for a one year PR4 link back to his website and a PR3 blog roll link on my personal blog seomkt.
About Blog Engage – I even had time to update the about blogengage page which shows much of our functionality in one convenient location. This shows and explains some pretty cool stuff I would definitely be checking it out. (more…)
Blog Engage Updates to Social Web CMS
Some of the biggest news in a long time Blog Engage is officially running live with the latest stable release of Social Web CMS. I upgraded the website 48 hours ago and so far I haven’t seen any issues. Lets cross our fingers and hope things remain positive regarding this change.
Blog Engage Profile Images
As always I try to promote our Blog Engage Profile Images and Badges. Nothing spreads better than word of mouth so the profile images work out well for building our community stronger.
Blog Engage Link Directory
I’m not sure if you had the chance to add your link but we have a very nice and quality Blog Link Directory you should be submitting to. Like I said I only allow for quality websites which makes Google consider all the sites added of great quality.
Blog Engage Blog Forum
Over the passed 2 years of being open I can say the forums have never been more active. With, Jessi, Sarah and myself leading the helms for moderation we keep the forum spam free and very active with new threads and discussions.
Blog Engage Link Love Program
The Link Love Program has worked out pretty well. With members adding the profile images they have been accepted into our link love page. The page is organized by Page Rank which also ads another cool element to it all.
Blog Engage Comment Subscription
Late last night I added a comment subscription to our main website. This allows you to subscribed to submissions you comment on or stories you submit. The benefit of this is to keep updated if anyone replies to comment you make. You will be updated via e-mail allowing you to communicate in a timely manner with other members.
