Too much has been said about the Bad Blogger. Is it okay to read his content, isn’t his page a little offensive because he has almost-nude women there, or does he rely too much on sexual content to market blogging. Well, we aren’t here to answer these questions, nor are we here to judge. All we can say is that despite all the strategies used, the Bad Blogger sure knows how to get eyeball grabbing attention and knows what good blogging is all about.

And here’s why this Bad Blogger is worth a read :

  • What’s wrong really : He does use a lot of images of scantily clad woman in his blog posts. But then he claims that even car and tech sites use models to sell their stuff. So there is one way to justify it. Well, it is just a marketing strategy, so why bother. The content is worthy enough to read and is really helpful for bloggers so what difference does the images make. His content is honest, refreshing and makes a lot of sense when put to practical use. There just isn’t two ways about it, the content is good and that is what really matters.
  • The sexual words are there : Yes, they are there. But then he has a separate column for his discussions about that. His blogging experiences are separate and his posts related to sexual content are separate. The categories are marked and one can choose what they really want to read and take it from there. He has clearly marked all sexual content under personal. If blogging is what you are looking for then there is a separate page for that.

  • Tongue in Cheek: A lot of people are put off by his tongue in cheek attitude, but it is actually refreshing to read content that way. His blog actually has a “Do Not Waste My Time Policy”. It is a comment policy page and it talk about what kind of comments will be deleted by the Bad Blogger and what his stand on commenting is all about. It is the most fun I have had when reading a comment policy page. Read it here and you will understand what we are talking about.
  • Reviews : The Bad Blogger reviews blogging sites, products and social sites. These reviews are primarily honest and that is what is noticeable from the word go. They give you like it actually is. No overhyped flattery, no over the top flattery, just plain simple truth about what he used and what he liked. That is all.

With topics ranging from blogging to personal; the bad bloggers literally lays out what he has really got. Drop by his site and see what it really is to be a bad blogger, catch his naughty but meaningful tweets on Twitter, friend him on Facebook, put him to your circles on Google, get all professional on LinkedIn or the easy way, watch the videos on You Tube. If blogging advice is what you looking for, then this is the spicy place to be.

Blog Engage $500 USD Guest Blogging Qualifying Article

Blogging is a word which has became most popular in last half decade and now current generation or youth is aware with what Blog & Blogging exactly means. There are many benefits for owing blog; there is no age restriction, no gender discrimination and so. Anyone having passion for any subject can think to start his/her own blog; it doesn’t require a single penny investment at times when you start with a free blogging platform.

Last few years showed tremendous growth in blogging career, millions of blog have been started by majority of young generation. Youth indulged and is indulging in blogging field because of two main reasons: money or passion or both. It’s an evidenced fact that weblog can lead you to make five or even six figure income and its very lucrative income.

As we can see that a majority of the young people are jumping into the blogging arena, this post would share the possible reasons on ‘Why the Young Generation is attracted towards blogging?’

8 Reasons the Young Generation is attracting towards Blogging:

Blogging is not a degree or work; it mainly means sharing knowledge and information. Youth always seek to outbound ones internal power and knowledge and it’s the main reason by young generation is attracted towards blogging. Possessions like money, fame, etc comes later. In this article, I’m going to describe main reasons for the same.

1. Passion for writing

In this era of computers, writing is a common passion or say hobby which is seen in many youngsters. They need some perfect platform to innovate this writing passion. It’s obvious that one can’t write in dairy and wait for someone to come and read as it’s just not happening. So, young generation choose blogging as the best platform to give their passion a new way. This category people just share their knowledge and do not care about money or fame, it might grow later for time being.

2. Fame & Reputation

Fame and popularity is what we all like, and this is the second reason for youngsters to jump into blogging field. When I used to browse websites, I came across one popular blog, and after reading that blogger’s journey, I was touched and made my mind to become Blogger. There we go as I was not touched by his journey, but with fame and popularity, rather than the money he had. This same thing happens to current youth; they get encouragement by reading and analyzing others.

I must blame reputation as another factor which attracts young people in blogging arena. I mean, they are very much attracted towards gaining reputation and fame that they think to do something new & outstanding and select Blogging as their weapon. This is general tendency which is seen in young minds.

3. Money

Money is yet another important factor which leads young people towards blogging. Money is need and to fulfill it, most of the people create blog. I can’t decline that blogging is diamond mine but I can’t neglect that, to obtain those diamonds one need to put dedicated efforts. Same thing happens in this career also, if you created blog for money earning purpose then it is actually not an issue as money is the fruits for your hard deeds but to earn these fruits, you need to show dedicated efforts.

4. Knowledge Hunt

Youth has boiling blood and they consistently search for knowledge so as to improve their skills. And blogging is the perfect place where they can improve their skills. If they create blog, then they are definitely going to read out more and more blogs/books to sharpen their language, skills, etc. Youth are of course rookie blogger and comments in the way which can help them to become pro, as they are going to know about mistakes they are doing and will earn more experience. And this is the thing which young generation needs. Well, blogging can help the young generation to learn a lot of things about the subject they are blogging about and as such, knowledge hunt is another factor which attracts the young generation towards blogging.

5. Be your Own Boss:

We all love to work according to one’s own tendency and blogging is the platform which can fulfill this dream of becoming self boss “Work when you feel, rest as you need.” Generally, while following 9 AM to 6 PM job routine, one has to work under certain terms and regulation of company, which according to me feels like servant oriented work. But, blogging is the field which doesn’t require any terms and standard rules to be followed, for theirs no one to observe if you are working, and you can take your own decision as you like and that’s the sole reason that youth is indulging themselves in blogging career.

6. Socializing oneself

Bloggers are the one who loves making new friends, thus socializing oneself. Majority of people loves to be social and blogging defines same for youngsters. While, stepping the success norm in blogging industry one automatically makes new friends in the form of clients, seniors, juniors, etc. Hence, blogging career gives perfect wings for youngsters to expand their social group, as they often come across with people having different ideologies.

7. Developing Self Entrepreneur:

One common dream which is generally seen in youth’s eyes is developing oneself into successful Entrepreneur who creates and organizes business. Majority of successful and experienced bloggers turned themselves into business brand as they realized that blogging career doesn’t have bright and everlasting future. And they utilized their blogging experience and earned exposure into self owned business. Current era’s youth is looking for same; they wish to create their own empire by turning themselves in successful entrepreneur and choose blogging as the initial step stone.

8. Thirst for more Experience:

Young Generation is very fast forward as they wish to accumulate more and more experience. And it’s evidenced fact that committing more and more mistakes makes a person to earn more experience. Blogging is the only platform where one performs infinite mistakes, gain knowledge and learn something new. Well, this is very rare reason for youngsters to indulge in blogging industry but few amounts of mature youth thinks like this way also.

It’s not over, there are lots of reasons and needs which encourages youngsters to follow blogging field. Whatever the reason they deal with, but most important thing is they should not spoil their academics for blogging.

Are you too a blogger from the young generation?

Blog Engage $500 USD Guest Blogging Qualifying Article

Blogging has really been around since the caveman days. The drawings on the walls told stories about their days or things they wanted others to know about. It could have been about their big hunt that day or telling others what areas to avoid danger. It could have been to barter and trade things amongst themselves.  Archeologists are still trying to translate the many paintings that survived from their day.

The word blogging as we know it online started in the late 1990s and the term was actually coined in 1999 by Peter Merholz in his own blog Peterme.com. The word blog is both a noun and a verb.

When you first started blogging did you think of blogging as another social media network that you had to interact on for traffic?  I know I did not know that when I first started blogging.

But as time went on and you wondered why you were not receiving comments it was time to wake up and take action. Blogging is not just all about writing and putting your words onto the web. It’s about being social with others online. Conversation starters can come right from your blog if you do it right. Of course great content is a major plus when you are blogging. Who would want to comment or share if the content is just so-so?

Of course if you are a Seth Godin you don’t need to.  If you don’t know who Seth is, he is an American entrepreneur, author and public speaker. Godin popularized the topic of permission marketing. It is the way marketers ask permission before sending an email or newsletter. Seth was also the founder of Squidoo. It is a community website that allows users to create pages (which they call lenses) for subjects of interest. Seth blogs without comments and his blog is still highly read, shared and talked about. But most of us are not Seth. If you want your blog to be read you must share, read others and comment along the way.

There are several ways to comment. My favorite one is the CommenLuv system. It’s easy to sign up and set up. If I can do – so can you! Every time you publish a new post it is included in your comments on other’s blogs. There is also a premium version available. CommentLuv encourages comments and interactions to your posts. It also helps you to build backlinks. We all know how important that is to Google to have your website or blog ranking up there in the search with backlinks. The premium addition has features that will help your posts to go viral. It can show when previous commenter’s click on the social enticement buttons when they commented. It also prevents spam as the comment doesn’t even get entered in to your database unless it passes the rules that you set in the settings. You can even specify what message gets displayed. Very nice! It also lets you set a minimum of words for comments so if someone just says “nice post” it will not be posted. You want comments on your posts to be real.  It also sets the minimum amount of seconds that person has to be on the page to comment to avoid spammers who have everything pre-loaded in programs and just hit the submit button. Those dirty rotten spammers!

Another popular commenting system is called Disqus which has been around since 2007. It is used by over ½ billion people today online. It makes commenting easier and interactive. The plug-in integrates using the Disqus API and syncing with WordPress comments. You have threaded comments and replies as well as notifications via email. You may subscribe or use RSS options too.

You can login via the following with Disqus:

  • name/email
    • Disqus
    • Google
    • Twitter
    • Facebook
    • Yahoo
    • OpenID

Another similar one is LiveFyre. LiveFyre  lets you send comments to Twitter and Facebook, but the formatting is little different from Disqus. LifeFryre does not give you any backlink juice and some bloggers like Ana from the Traffic Generation Cafe stays away from it for that reason.  It does offer back and forth commenting which some people may like.
If you are on Blogger you can use the Blogger comment and it will link back to your Blogger blog. You can also put in your name and URL if you do not have a blogger formatted blog. It does give you several options to choose from. When you comment it does leave backlink to your blog. It does not leave the last post like CommentLuv does.

Some bloggers prefer the Facebook or Twitter login. I am not a big fan of those. I prefer to drive traffic and backlinks to my main sites rather than Facebook and Twitter which I do use as well but not for commenting.

I prefer sharing the posts. The mother of all plug-ins for sharing is DIggDigg and I just love this one. I learned about it from Ms. Ileane. I had to ask as I had seen in on various websites and really wanted it as it has many features including the Blog Engage share button too!  You can pick and choose from many different social bookmarking sites with their share button.  You can use it on the side bar or under and/or above each of your blogs posts.

So how does this all make blogging a two-way street? I find it similar to being on Twitter – you have conversations with others bloggers on their posts and you get to know them better. What better way than to comment and go back and forth over points on posts on which you agree or disagree? Isn’t that what social is all about? It’s like being around the fire pit and discussing issues of the day.

RSS and Marketing Services

Blogging makes it possible for one to give his two cents worth on general topics, with the possibility of making some money from it. At the onset, most personal bloggers are not keen on SEO, video content, advertising and similar intricacies of the worldwide web. However, with time, they realize that it is possible to earn some bucks while sharing their opinions about different issues online. Below are five creative ways to earn money from your blog:

Advertising

Selling advertising is the most popular way of earning revenue from blogs. This is especially true if your blog happens to become quite popular for a certain niche. You may register for Google’s AdSense program, whereby the search engine operator allows you to place several ads consistent with the theme of your blog. You receive small payments according to the number of clicks the advertisement generates from visitors.

You may also choose BlogAds, which charges a small commission for placing ads on your blog. Here, you are able to deal directly with advertisers, and negotiate payments for placing relatively inconspicuous adverts on your blog.

Affiliate Marketing

You can also earn passive income from your blog through affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing programs allow third parties to act as a link between traders and customers. For instance, you can write book reviews on your blog, mentioning several published titles using SEO methodology. Readers can learn more about the book by clicking on a link to Amazon, E-Bay or other popular e-retailers. You receive a small stipend for your marketing efforts, if they happen to purchase the book by following your link.

Personal Marketing

Apart from affiliate marketing, which is merely marketing products on behalf of someone else, you can also market your own products or services using blogs. When writing content for the blog, try to figure out creative ways of selling your own merchandise or services to prospective readers. For instance, if you are a web designer, do not simply blog about HTML, hosting and design software. Instead, create content that displays your abilities, expertise and professional perspective on the niche subject. This may resonate well with some readers, who might contact you for future business.

Customer Relations

Entrepreneurs with online businesses should make a point of blogging about it. Their main domain serves as a platform for doing business only. Hence, an accompanying blog gives business owners an opportunity to communicate informally with customers about matters touching on the business. Here, you can offer customers a glimpse of the full scope of business or services available from your domain.

Blogging is a fun and interesting way to communicate with the online community. You can also make passive income from a personal or business-related blog. This is possible using advertising, affiliate marketing, personal marketing, customer relations and other creative techniques. However, all content on the blog must be professional and SEO, in order to attract a substantial audience.

Blog Engage $500 USD Guest Blogging Qualifying Article

Before starting a blog every blogger design a schedule to become a successful blogger. When I started blogging I made a schedule for my blog.

Here is the schedule

  • At least 3 articles per week
  • Commenting on 5 forums a day
  • Answer 3 questions on Yahoo Answers
  • One gust post for every 2 weeks
  • Blah blah blah…

But I couldn’t stick to the schedule even for one week, to say exactly I dropped this schedule after my second day of my blogging.

Go and ask successful bloggers two questions

  • Following a fixed schedule help us grow?

They say yes

  • Do you have any blogging schedule?

At least 90% of bloggers say No

Writing articles for your readers help you and your blog to grow but writing for schedules makes your blog unpopular.

So what you think, schedule for a blog is a complete waste? No, Without a blog schedule you can’t popularize your blog.

Schedule is not just limited to time (don’t create time tables) you can schedule your blog posts in terms of tasks.

My Schedule

What I do before publishing my next blog post?

  • I will post at least 5 forum postings
  • I will answer 3 questions on Yahoo Answers

And other things

I write blog posts each and every day but I don’t publish them until I have done some particular tasks for my previous blog posts.

I don’t want you to follow my routine because I know all blogs are not similar. So follow different blog schedules at least try to stick to the one of given two.

How we can schedule our blogs

Two kinds of blogs as per scheduling regard

There are several kinds but select one of these by your priority. Don’t bother about terminology as I invented these so keep reading the concept.

Time based Scheduling Blogs

I consider these blogs as Search engine blogs. Yes, these blogs get most of the traffic from search engines. These bloggers write posts on recent tech releases or trending topics, once they complete the blog post make it optimized for search engines. You can see famous tech blogs which publishes at least 5 articles a day. You know recently Samsung galaxy S III was released, you can find it on any gadgets featuring Tech blogs.

How to Schedule

  • Selection of a topic
You can make full use of Google trends to find out the trending topics and use those keywords for your post.
  • Publish it and keep writing

             Yes, it’s done

The more you post on these blogs the more are the visits to your blog. Try publishing a post on trending topics, these searches last for few days but give lot of visits in less time. Imagine posting 3 to 5 trending articles each single day. You can find months old websites sold at a high price on Flippa or other similar sites. What are they doing? They simply write articles on recent trends.

Task Based Scheduling

Other blogs fall under this category. You no need to worry about time but you need to do some necessary tasks for promoting your blog posts to attract more and more readers to your blog.

How to Schedule

  • Write a blog post

You can write on any topic which steals the viewer attraction.

  • Publish it
  • Promote the blog post

Once the post is published, blog owner concentrates on promoting                  on various blogs. As I said earlier, they do forum posting, running                     campaigns or any other techniques.

  • Promote by giving Freebees

These bloggers offer free giveaways like e-books or e-courses. By doing all of these they attract more readers to their blogs.

Blog Design

Don’t get me wrong I’m not going to explain anything about coding or at least the basics as I’m poor with designing. Keep reading

Let’s talk about Sidebars

Some popular blogs maintain amazing sidebars, you can easily copy and apply same design for your blog but it does not look great for your blog. So what’s wrong with your blog? Because those sidebars are not for your blog. Here are few tips for you to choose.

Date Vs Category Archive

I love placing the archive by category rather than by month because the posts in my blog are time independent. If I publish category archive it will help my readers to find the posts which they are interested in. I’m running two blogs one is on money making online and the other is on gadgets. I use category archive on money making niche and Month archive on gadgets niche. Still undecided, no problem you can make use of both but not on the same place. My suggestion is place month archive in the side bar and premier categories in the menu.

Most popular posts Vs Recent Posts

You can get more reader conversion rate just by placing links for killer posts on your blog. When it comes to my gadgets blog it is simply a waste of space, because there is no popular posts all are just informatics posts. I cannot judge a single post will get attraction from more visitors so I publish links to recent posts.

Subscriptions – post or daily or weekly

One post can change your visitor to your reader it is true vice-versa. So to retain your visitors you have to maintain some good subscription strategies. If you write blog posts less frequent it’s better to send email for each post. You are posting two or more posts every day then your readers’ mail boxes filled with your messages only, they simply mark you as spam or unsubscribe to your blog. It’s better to go with weekly subscription, just create list of all posts with excerpts and send to your readers. They can see all the posts at a time and they surely visit your blog if any one of those posts looks interesting.

Design your blog schedule today but before that decide what type of blog schedule and design well fit your blog.

Note: All these tips are for beginners if you are an expert blogger please do add some more points to this list.

Blog Engage $500 USD Guest Blogging Qualifying Article

Now sometime back I wrote an article here on Blog Engage titled “Don’t Stop At Promoting Your Blog On The Internet Only” which was a few ideas and techniques that I use to help promote my blog outsdide the world of the internet.

While I was writing that article it got me thinking about my passion when it comes to my everyday life when I’m not sitting in front of a computer and actually having a little bit of a social life.

So on to what I’m talking about, most of you who do blog, will be blogging for the enjoyment, some for the money and some for the sheer fact that everyone else seems to be blogging these days and even though my blog Blazing Minds is a complete mixed bag of blogging genres, I personally have my own passions.

If It’s Your Passion, Then Don’t Be Afraid To Blog About It!

As a lot of you who may follow me on Twitter, Facebook and other places will know, I love films and I can’t seem to get enough of them, so yes that’s my passion.

I’ve said many times that it’s an industry that I would have loved to be part of, but sadly, it never went that way for me. So now I use my blog as my way of indulging in to my passion of the film releases in the cinema and have become my local cinema’s official film reviewer (See it’s worked for me already).

Since doing this on my blog, my passion has developed in to part of my daily life, meeting new faces from those that read my reviews to even meeting those in the film industry, which is just fantastic.

Most people will say to you that blogging in one set niche is the best thing to do and if you listen to this them, blogging about your passion is perfect, blog to your hearts content ;)

How Can Your Passion Help You?

That’s one thing that I was asked many times by those that initially thought that blogging and even watching films was a waste of time, but lets put it this way, since I started doing the reviews and learning more about blogging from fellow bloggers, like those here on Blog Engage, my reputation has increased when it comes to film.

OK, I’m not the world most famous blogger or the best film reviewer in the world, but by doing something that I love, I’ve managed to learn so much in such a short space of time and also been able to show that my passion for film has helped me socialise more.

If you take your passion, outside of the internet, you will not only find a whole new world out there, but it will also start to show on your blogging, tweeting and whatever else that you do to new heights and expertise will grow.

People Will See A Change In You

I have to say that I was never one for being in the foreground of anything, I was always the one sitting at the back of the school hall, but since I’ve been making the most of my passion, I’ve changed, I’m more outgoing, I join in conversation a lot more and I even wear a sweat shirt with my blog on it for everyone to see, now that’s something I  would’ve never doing a few months back. A real confidence booster for me.

Example: Lets say you are someone who goes to craft markets to sell your handmade crafts, use your blog to promote where you will be and what wares you will be taking with you, get a T-Shirt made with your blog address, so people know it’s you, even wear it when you’re out and about town. You will be surprised how much more confidence you can get just by doing that.

Use Your Passion As Your Business

If it’s something you love then why not develop it further, take advantage of the knowledge you have and use it with your new found confidence to conquer the world in what you do, show everyone that you are willing to share your knowledge with everyone.

Make a go of your life, start doing what you enjoy, use what you have learned and will be learning to make life that bit more enjoyable and most of all, just have fun, we only live once!

So, Do You Blog About Your Passion? Do You Have A Passion?

Blog Engage $500 USD Guest Blogging Qualifying Article

Hello all. First of all I like to thanks Brian Belfitt who gave me chance to take part in this contest. Taking part in such contest is an achievement for me because here my post will be read by you all great and experienced blogger from all around the world.

Let’s start this post with my little feeling which I realized just after I started Blogging and started communicating with other bloggers. What I am feeling today as a newbie Blogger might have been felt by you (if you are a blogger) some time ago when you started your Blogging journey. Return back to your past and remember how you were keen to communicate with peoples who were doing same Blogging stuffs. Many of them were at higher rank and you learned a lot from them as today I am learning a lot from you people.

After gaining such a success and popularity in blogging carrier many bloggers are still accepting request from new bloggers and always helping and encouraging them.

What I am thinking is may be common for all new bloggers. But I realize that every one of us who belongs to blogging stuffs are connected with each other through different social media like Blog Engage, Face book, twitter etc. Many of Bloggers became good friend even very good friends. Everyone is busy with their blogs but still always helping each other. We all are competitors but no one is acting here like professionals. Everyone is present in groups, forums and always active, anytime ready to answer queries by other.

I feel a small world here surrounded with you helping peoples and this world seems much better than outside professional world.

Making friends, joining groups/forums, asking questions, answering queries, posting guest articles to other blog and chatting with other bloggers through online social media are many ways through which you can improve your social relationship with other bloggers. These relationships are going to help you in your Blogging career. Let’s discuss point wise and understand how?

1. You will get more likes more readers more publicity more traffic

Starting from basic needs for every blogger, that is more readers and more traffic. You will get more readers and not only readers but you will get quality readers if you are connected with other blogger through social media. They will read your posts, they like it and you will get more traffic.

2. You will be always updated with new technologies and ideas

Every bloggers have their own ideas but sometime we are out of our ideas. Again this time your social connection will help you. Many pro bloggers are very high post frequency and daily come up with new ideas and technical news. You can read them and build your own idea quickly and prepare a post for your own blog.

3. You will start learning from your own mistakes

Mistakes are not bad. As one of famous Quito says

I didn’t failed 1000 times I found 1000 ways that can cause failure

So do mistakes but never repeat them and realize them as earlier as possible. Learn from your mistakes and find how it can create failure and don’t repeat them again. Social connection will help to find out your mistakes .Because an experienced eye can find mistakes faster so it will help you to find your mistake earlier and you can improve it before its too late.

4. You become popular and trustworthy

As you are in communication with pro and experienced bloggers and they are reading your articles then they can also review for you and your work. A third party will accept your work quickly if he/she found that you are reviewed by good bloggers.

This will increase the chance of approval of your guest post by other bloggers. If you are reviewed by a pro-blogger than easily anybody can trust you.

5. You will learn to differentiate between good and bad

Like a popular proverb “Every coin has two sides” Blogger has its wrong side also. Sometimes you will encounter with people who are fake. They will seem to be good with you. But later you will realize that you are cheated by them. Blogging is a market so many times you will face such cheaters. But if you are in communication with other bloggers then you can easily come to know the difference between good and bad. You chance of getting cheated will become less.

Socialization with other blogger can teach you that how to deal with bad and good people in blogging.

6. Some common advantages

Apart from above points there are many more advantage of being socialize with other bloggers. You will be face to face with other bloggers and it will help you to understand the flow of competition in blogging world. You will learn different strategies which will surely boost your blogging career. You will get fast and easy solutions for your technical problems.

I would also like to add three points which you all should keep in mind

  • Always beware of fakes and cheaters.try to keep distance from them.
  • Never fight with other blogger. Always use polite words. Sometime you will face peoples who will pull your leg, don’t lose your patience.
  • Even you are a pro Blogger don’t ignore the newbie blogger. Accept their request and also communicate with them and help them.

So if you are blogger and you are not communicating with other than you must start communicating now. Start adding and accepting other blogger to your friends list, start joining groups and forums, start taking part in discussion and asking questions. This will help you a lot in your blogging career.

You can simply find many blog related to your niche by searching your category or main keyword in search engines. Once you get them, visit them frequently and know that how a post can be made. I also get some ideas for my guest post from my niche related blogs.

Comments

Comments can also give you ideas for your next post. Read comments on your blog posts and write a post if you can find it worthy for a post. In post leave some questions like..

Share you views about this?

Can you say me what is missing here?

So you can get some ideas when they comment. Read comments not only of your blog. Read other blogs related to your niche and don’t even miss comments of it. Yeah, Look at their comments. May be their reader leaved a key for your to unlock your next post.

Request Zone

Readers love to read that what they want. Its waste for a man if it is not related to what he want. You have to complete needs of your readers to get more posts and more support from your readers. Open a request page and give them a chance to ask something to be posted on your blog.

It can be a suggestion, a problem or may be a feedback to you. Be sure that you are master in that niche if you open a request zone. Else your impression will be down if you will not be able to solve problems of your readers.
