It’s been a few weeks since my last social spotlight so I thought it would be most appropriate to start the week of with one. Een is a member here on blogengage and submits his articles daily like the majority of our members. Today we will discuss with Een what initially made him start blogging, why he enjoys it and other questions regarding his blogging career.

Brian: Een I would like to welcome you into our social spotlight. It’s been great having you as part of our community and it’s only appropriate we have you here for our social spotlight. Please take a minute and introduce yourself to our community members.
Een: Hi, first of all I would like to thank Brian for giving me this opportunity to be interviewed.
I’m Een Rockstar (born as Fazreen)… My real name is Mohd Fazreen Jasni. I’m a Malay for sure. I’m Malaysian blogger living in Kedah somewhere in north Malaysia. I’m 21 this year (2009) still young. Currently doing a Degree in Mechanical Engineering major in Manufacturing. Will be finished my study in 2011. So I’m an engineer in the making hahaha. I hate studying so much. I can’t wait to finish my study as soon as possible. Engineering subjects almost kill me LOL! As you know, I’m a blogger too and I blog at Fazreen dot Com. FULL TIME BLOGGER that doesn’t make enough money online believe it or not. Although half of my time I’m still studying and the other half I’m bloggging, I’d rather call myself as a full time blogger. I’m also the creator of Reen Media Network. Still keen to know me? Read my blog.

Brian: Great introduction Een. I didn’t know you were in school to be an engineer. When you start making the big bucks don’t forget about me ok buddy lol. Een take a moment and tell us why you started blogging. I know everyone has their own little story and I’m most interested in hearing yours.
Een: This is the part which I think I like to say. Ok. I started blogging seriously early 2009 on 8th Feb. The date in which my domain was set up. My entrepreneur journey started since I was 13 years. At that time, I was in secondary school and I stayed at a hotel. So every night I sold some foods at the hotel. This is how I started learning to earn my own cash. I was doing that for 5 years until I finished secondary school. After that, when I was 17 years old, I started to join multi level marketing (MLM). Without any knowledge about MLM I failed to make money with it. But I’m not giving up that easily. Back then, at the end of 2008, I stumbled upon this one blog (Malay blog) which provided some info about make money online.
The blog owner posted about how he made money online promoting products. Then I thought about promoting my MLM product using Internet. Apart from that I tried to learn about blogging. I tried my luck with blogspot but I failed again. I realized I was not in love with MLM. For this reason I left the MLM business. Unhappy with my first trial of making money online, I researched more info about Internet marketing and blogging. Everyday, I sit back in front of my laptop online searching for information on blogging and Internet marketing. This is the worst part where I overload myself with information. I don’t know what I should start with. Then I made a decision to start my own blog with my own domain which I can share my entrepreneur journey with my readers. This is where I got started with blogging. Now I’m happy with blogging. Blogging is like my angel.

Brian: What an inspiring story Een. I think this interview is important for our members to see that with dedication, commitment and determination we can achieve almost anything in life. It seems like you had a very difficult childhood. Working at your young age is something I never had to experience. I’m glad you finally found something you love to do. Een take a moment and explain to our readers why they should visit your blog and most importantly what you do in order to stand out form the competitive blogs in your market.
Een:
Using my blog, I try my best to share my experience on blogging with my readers and provide them some useful information. When I started my blog, I wanted to make the blog into MMO niche but when I think back, I’d rather make it into personal niche (general). Why? Most newbie failed in blogging when they try to blog in MMO niche because they don’t have experience on it. Problogging is not only for MMO niche. It can be anything. This is what I’m trying to do. In my blog, sometimes you will find my crappy rambling, sometime you will find useful post, sometimes you will find a killer article. Those are dependent on my experiences and my journey in blogging. I want my readers to grow up together with my rambling. I want my readers know how my entrepreneur journey was. So come home with me and I’ll tell you about myself and take you on a journey.
My main activity and my biggest activity to market my blog is leaving comment on others blog. I found this way is very super duper useful on marketing my blog. Besides, it builds relationship among bloggers. I’m also marketing my blog using web 2.0 sites like twitter, facebook, yedda and squidoo. I quite active in twitter and facebook so don’t forget to be my friend on both sites.

Brian: I think the honesty and integrity you display will bring in more readers Een. I know may website say they can earn but they don’t earn anything. It’s actually refreshing to hear more then just a few bloggers are struggling. Tell us Een if we were to follow you and socially interact with you what are some of the communities you are hanging out in?
Een: My favorite social communities is twitter followed by facebook. I just created one group named RockStar Bloggers on facebook. Do come join us!
Last but not least, I would like advise you especially newbie bloggers. If you want to be a problogger, find your interest first in blogging. Don’t think problogger just blogging on MAKE MONEY ONLINE niche. The blog which is already success usually because the blog owner has experience in his field and have credibility too. Most newbies make mistakes when they directly build a MMO niche blog while they don’t have any experience on making money online. They feel weird when nobody buys the product which they are promoting and nobody leaves comments on their blog. Finally, after 3 – 4 months they feel fed up and close their blog. So do you want to be one of them? Think first before you build a blog.
Good luck to all bloggers!
I want to send a big thank you to Een for taking the time and participating in our social spotlight. If you’re a fan we got some great bloggers lined of over the next few weeks so stay tuned and keep visiting for daily updates.
