I was over at Alexa this morning looking at the recent spike in activity in blogging wire and decided to also take a peak at how blog engage is doing. I didn’t notice much of an increase regarding ranking but what I did notice was something that made me feel really good about the last two years of dedication to our social community.

When visiting Alexa you can see the third tab in names reviews. In two years time I have never once looked at this section, until today. What I found was just amazing and surprised me unlike anything I have felt in a long time. I wanted to say thanks to all the individuals that have added reviews and will include your personal review.

A great network and community of bloggers. Full of facts and useful info regarding blogs and blog improvement. It’s a very friendly place to be with everyone being thoroughly helpful to one another.

Brian’s site helps to connect bloggers throughout the world, encouraging them to read each others’ posts, vote on them and learn from them. Perhaps the most important and impressive feature of this network is that it builds a lot of positive relationships within a community where the amount of co-operation is truly remarkable. Helping lots of new bloggers to find both help and a growing audience, BlogEngage is, without a doubt, my favourite website find of 2009 so far.

Here I am just reviewing my favorite social network and also the Brian the guy behind BlogEngage for the good work they are doing to develop BlogEngage and provide such good service to engage all bloggers together in a healthy and safe environment.

Blogengage is a social bookmarking site that benefits members with exposures and networking. What I love about it is the dedication of the founder, Brian and continuous support from fellow members who never cease to support each other’s posts and voting. I truly appreciate this site. All the efforts been poured in are well recognized. Definitely worth a mention here on Alexa.

Blog Engage is a website that specializes in catering to the blogging community. Bloggers can search topics of interest or articles from specific blogs or they can register and become part of the Blog Engage community. Once registered a blogger can submit articles which will be read, commented and voted on by other bloggers. A post that has been submitted becomes published after it has received 7 votes from other bloggers. This system helps to strengthen the network and provides additional blog traffic and exposure with like-minded individuals.

As a blogger you will also experience personal growth and gain new knowledge from reading and visiting blogs covering various topics. The community is also encouraged to interact with each other by leaving valuable comments on each others blogs, which helps to improve the quality of the content found on each blog. Blog engage members can also benefit from participation in the Google AdSense revenue sharing program which was introduced as a new feature in November 2009.

There is an additional component of an online discussion forum for members to participate in. The Alexa ranking for blogengage has rose from 40,000 in September 2009 to 20,000 in October 2009.

Thanks everyone it means a lot to know you appreciate and enjoy this amazing community of bloggers we have come to create together.

Have you looked at the quality of blogs being submitted to our website? If you have you know as well as I do blogengage has some really great looking blogs. So for this quality I say thanks. Without your hard work, dedication and commitment our community would be less of value then it is today.

Thankfully we are great bloggers and have great blogs and for that we have a high quality blog article submission website.

Pay close attention over the next 4 or 5 visits to the website. Read some articles that interest you and based on quality of content and design you will be satisfied.

I personally take the time to moderate the first submission from all our new members. I visit their blogs and moderate their content and design. Based on these results I deleted or approve the account.

Many of our members talk highly of our community. If you ever meet a true blog blogengager you will know it. They are real true bloggers. The kind that will read your about us page. The kind that will read your content and comment.

For this I extend a thank you to all the members who have been with us for the last two years. It’s been a blast and I look forward to our growth in 2010

When you search for blogging tips these days, one thing that always seems to stand out is the word “niche” and when you read about it on these blogs they always say that you should set a niche for your blog to blog about and stick to it.

But the question arises, Do you have to stick to a niche or can you stray from it?

I myself blog about a lot of stuff, so I suppose you could say that Blazing Minds is set in the niche of “Mixed Bag”, but if you do have a lot of interests, then why should you only blog about one thing and one thing only, OK I know there are a lot of blogs out there that do only blog about one thing and they do very well, but do you get a wider audience by blogging about anything you want and do you get a set target audience doing it this way or just people strolling around the net looking for everything and anything.

Over the time I have been blogging, when I do do several posts about one subject, I personally get bored with them, I think that is why I enjoy blogging about anything I can, after all, I’m not in it to get rich, only to have a bit of fun and meet fellow bloggers and have even more fun.

Maybe that is one of the reasons that I now have guest bloggers, not only do they help in bringing some freash blood to my blog, but they can also bring in some knowledge to subjects that I may not know much about or nothing about and not only teach me but my readers, but then again does this mean that the blog is falling in to a niche for these subjects, there’s that word again, niche!

Do you blog in a set niche or do you blog about what you want, are you following a route of only blogging in subjects that seem to be big on the search engines top keywords that could possibly make you money or are you blogging from the heart just to have fun.

So there we have it a small question with a big post

Are You Blogging in The Right Niche? Do You Care?
