Ivin, another super video from you! Brian might remember that I was the first one to make a Blog Engage tutorial video. Things have changed so much in two years and the site has grown tremendously! We didn’t even have the RSS service back then.

Hello Ileane. Thanks! I’ve watched your video and noticed soemthing that may be the reason for Blogengages success – the theme and design has been unchanged and consistent since 2009. This may be a good tip for bloggers. I know with my flagship blog that may have been an issue with traffic and readership, but now I think I’ve found something that looks good and it may just stay that way for long.

Good tutorial and overview, I am still not sure about the rewards system. It doesn’t seem to track points properly for me, not sure how many visits in 24 hours, or tweets and time frame it tracks them, but it doesn’t add up the points for me properly based on my activity.

I can’t it to ever trigger past 200 points in a day, and when I login it used to give 100 points for logging in every 24 hours and stopped doing that.

Hi Justin, sorry I didn’t get here faster. Here’s what I have learned so far about the rewards program. Every user is capped at 500 points per day. They can only G+ and tweet once no matter if it’s a different article. So in general a user on the first visit can get 500 points, 100 for visiting, 100 for tweeting, 100 for G+, 100 for liking on Facebook and 100 for commenting.
Seeing that a user can only like you on Facebook once there could be issues hitting the 500 points. If you have any other questions please go login and chat with Ben and the guys from punch tag to confirm any more questions you have they are really awesome guys!
What I don’t want to do is give you the wrong answers simply from the understanding that I have to date about the rewards system. Also prior to any of this working you have to be connected to Facebook.

This makes some sense, I can get the 100 for visit and 100 for retweet, but it doesn’t seem to record my 1 facebook like and 1 G+ share per day, I never seem to get the 100 points earned reward when doing those. I vote many articles per day but only share a few to the networks (maybe 1 or 2 articles per day) to try and get the rewards points and they don’t always add up.
Still trying to figure it out. But hey, it keeps me engaged right!

I see you’ve got 1800 points. Is that incorrect? I know you get 100 for visiting, 100 for a comment etc. I’ll let brian get back to you on this as he set it up.

Hi,
Nice presentation. I think there is a problem with the red rewards button, because I have a hard time getting them to work for me. I have facebook up when I tweet, like, and +1. I go to members site, read articles and leave comments on site and then back here at BE. But I usually only get 100 pts for retweets and if I put a comment on BE’s FB page. Perhaps I’m doing something wrong.
I love BE anyway, so I’ll just live with it. Thanks for the info cause I did learn some things. Sally
