RSS and Marketing Services

Hey Everyone, my name is Phillip Longmire. I’m a father of two teenagers, married 19 years, and love riding my motorcycle when ever I can. I live in Houston, TX so if you ever get this way look me up.

I spent some time with Brian setting up my Blog Engage account tonight and decided I would create this guest post.

The way I learned about Blog Engage was from Kim, who has taught me about blogging and got me going with a new blog. The main reason I joined Blog Engage was because I wanted the benefit of joining a network of other bloggers who may be interested in helping each other out. I also wanted to increase the readership of my blog.

I blog about church leadership and matters pertaining to religion. I was a pastor in a large church for a number of years and planted a church. I now write and self publish books along with helping pastors whenever I can.

I really love my new blog and seen an increase in unique visits. Nothing that would turn heads, but gaining more readership everyday. I do spend a lot of time producing the content that I post. However I am still not seeing comments on the blog and not getting anyone to really sign up to the newsletter.

I am however seeing some click through on my teaching resources and people checking out what we have to offer. I often wonder if it is a subject I should even venture into, but after being a pastor for so many years I know the market and people. I know the language so to speak.

I hope I can contribute to the community in some way, even though I am not in a marketing niche, perhaps I can learn how to survive outside of the normal niches.

The first thing I noticed when Joining was how active Brian is on the blog and working with those who join. He immediately contacted me on twitter and Facebook and began building that connection immediately. It’s refreshing to see someone engaged in their own site and so willing to spend time with those who join. I don’t know a lot about the SEO and backlinking, but it is obvious Brian does.

Letting him focus on that stuff only allows me to focus more on what I love…writing producing content. Its good business when we allow others help us in our areas of weakness, and focus on building and producing content for our readers.

This will be a success for me if I network and meet other bloggers who can help me along the way. I would also like to build networks with other bloggers where we can do guest blogging. Of course if readership increases, I can live with that as well.

I want to invite you to leave a comment and let me know how Blog Engage has helped you. And of course you can always stop by my blog and check it out.
