Blog Engage $500 USD Guest Blogging Qualifying Article
Now sometime back I wrote an article here on Blog Engage titled “Don’t Stop At Promoting Your Blog On The Internet Only” which was a few ideas and techniques that I use to help promote my blog outsdide the world of the internet.
While I was writing that article it got me thinking about my passion when it comes to my everyday life when I’m not sitting in front of a computer and actually having a little bit of a social life.
So on to what I’m talking about, most of you who do blog, will be blogging for the enjoyment, some for the money and some for the sheer fact that everyone else seems to be blogging these days and even though my blog Blazing Minds is a complete mixed bag of blogging genres, I personally have my own passions.
If It’s Your Passion, Then Don’t Be Afraid To Blog About It!
As a lot of you who may follow me on Twitter, Facebook and other places will know, I love films and I can’t seem to get enough of them, so yes that’s my passion.
I’ve said many times that it’s an industry that I would have loved to be part of, but sadly, it never went that way for me. So now I use my blog as my way of indulging in to my passion of the film releases in the cinema and have become my local cinema’s official film reviewer (See it’s worked for me already).
Since doing this on my blog, my passion has developed in to part of my daily life, meeting new faces from those that read my reviews to even meeting those in the film industry, which is just fantastic.
Most people will say to you that blogging in one set niche is the best thing to do and if you listen to this them, blogging about your passion is perfect, blog to your hearts content
How Can Your Passion Help You?
That’s one thing that I was asked many times by those that initially thought that blogging and even watching films was a waste of time, but lets put it this way, since I started doing the reviews and learning more about blogging from fellow bloggers, like those here on Blog Engage, my reputation has increased when it comes to film.
OK, I’m not the world most famous blogger or the best film reviewer in the world, but by doing something that I love, I’ve managed to learn so much in such a short space of time and also been able to show that my passion for film has helped me socialise more.
If you take your passion, outside of the internet, you will not only find a whole new world out there, but it will also start to show on your blogging, tweeting and whatever else that you do to new heights and expertise will grow.
People Will See A Change In You
I have to say that I was never one for being in the foreground of anything, I was always the one sitting at the back of the school hall, but since I’ve been making the most of my passion, I’ve changed, I’m more outgoing, I join in conversation a lot more and I even wear a sweat shirt with my blog on it for everyone to see, now that’s something I would’ve never doing a few months back. A real confidence booster for me.
Example: Lets say you are someone who goes to craft markets to sell your handmade crafts, use your blog to promote where you will be and what wares you will be taking with you, get a T-Shirt made with your blog address, so people know it’s you, even wear it when you’re out and about town. You will be surprised how much more confidence you can get just by doing that.
Use Your Passion As Your Business
If it’s something you love then why not develop it further, take advantage of the knowledge you have and use it with your new found confidence to conquer the world in what you do, show everyone that you are willing to share your knowledge with everyone.
Make a go of your life, start doing what you enjoy, use what you have learned and will be learning to make life that bit more enjoyable and most of all, just have fun, we only live once!
So, Do You Blog About Your Passion? Do You Have A Passion?

I am really like your article.
But my problem is, I cant find my passion.
I know that I want to make money online, but is it therefore my passion?

Thank you Andreas, a passion can be defined as a strong feeling that you have about something, then if you have strong feelings about making money online then it could indeed be your passion

But thats the problem:
I do not have strong feelings about making money online,
I just want to make money online.
I am happy for you, that you have found your passion.
I really need to make a test to find my passion

I like the idea here but as a business plan I do wonder if it will work? What I mean is that all of the big money blogs seem to be in niches that no one could possible have a passion about (for example acne, loans etc) and these seem to be where the money is, however, things that people will more likely have a passion about seem really difficult to cash in on in my experience.
Do you think following a passion could be more profitable than following the money or do you think that the passion element just makes the “work” so much more enjoyable that its worth the effort?

You will usually find that someone who sets up a business has a passion for the business that they have started, even if it is a passion for the money! Such as people who set up a business making jewellery, 9 times out of 10 it’s their passion for making the jewellery that gives then the incentive to take it one step further and start earning from it

Hi Karen, ever since we first meet I know you loved what you did on blazing minds, isn’t amazing how much time has passed since when we first meet? We have both come a long way since then and have so much further to go but we will make it because we love what we do. I’m so happy Blog Engage is working and making a living for me and in return I work hard for it.
We can look at everyone blogging online, you can tell the ones who have passion from the ones who look for the money. As you know the ones that blog for 6 months and eventually quit lol… They don’t have passion like we do, this is why we are still here doing what we love.
I also know you have passion about Blog Engage I can tell you love it here. Hey 3 years later and you’re still hanging around, guest blogging and submitting article so I know and see you love it as much as I do. Thanks for the support Karen and the inspiring article.

Thank you for such wonderful words there Brian, you’re right those that don’t have a passion for blogging don’t last that long and usually those that are only in it for the money, usually give up quite easily as well

Readers can always tell if you’re having fun while writing your own posts. I think this is the secret to keeping a blog fresh and fun to read. It’s not just the “passion,” but the joy and fun in the writing and the attitude towards the whole subject.

Hey Karen
I’m so glad to read this post. I’ve wanted to enter the BE guest contest, but my passion doesn’t lie in technical blogging, which is what most people blog about. You’ve just inspired me to post about my passion!
I have read some of your movie reviews and loved them. I’m anxiously waiting to see the new Johnny Depp movie, “Dark Shadows”, with my friend next week.
This is a wonderful and refreshing post! Good luck to you in the contest! Sally

One of the reasons I decided to do the self help niche is because I really do enjoy helping people succeed. It’s one of those things that I noticed about 10 years ago, but never figured out how to go about doing something about until now.
During NaNoWriMo (a writing event I often talk about) I have about as much fun encouraging others on to their victories as I do reaching for my own. I started my site originally as a way to share what I had learned through NaNoWriMo, as well as what I was learning about success from other sources, so that I could help others even as I was growing myself.
I think the best thing I ever did for my site was to switch it from a “static” site to a blog (since I was already using wordpress anyway). I have enjoyed the interaction and feel that has been a part of the motivator for me to keep going with it. In fact, it was a part of what helped me to get over my procrastination earlier this year.
I’m also realizing I have a few other passions along the way. I’m really enjoying doing the design work and creating some of the 3d image I have used on my site. It’s another one of those things that I may start using as another way to build my income as I figure out more of what I’m doing on that front.
I get so excited doing these posts sometimes, even when it’s 1 AM!
Anyway, thanks for sharing!
