I wanted to do a video allowing me to show all our members how I developed the majority of blogengage’s traffic. I’m a  big fan of webmaster forums here’s the original article,

Believe it or not I actually used webmaster forums and took advantage of all sub forums that would allow me to leave a website url because it was relevant to.

Remember there is a way to do this while remaining ethical. Enjoy my tips as they are what got me to where I am today.

You will also see as your traffic increases over the next few weeks. Be sure to let me know how it works out by commenting below.

Absolutely… same with blogging, best effect comes from building relationships within the community. I think the main trouble some people get into is they spread themselves across too many forums instead of finding very specific, very targeted forums and becoming an active member. Takes time but the pay-off is worth it. My best returns have come from forum posts where I’ve shared a blog type article in response to a question; provided help and something of value. :)

So do I understand that you started BE two years ago? I’d love to see some kind of traffic timeline some day.

Love the honesty here, Brian! I think one of the more difficult things about forum marketing is finding the forums that best fit your niche for potential readers. Any advice on that?

Hey Allison I can put something together for you! Unfortunately over the past two days I forgot to put my analytics code back on my site. So what I can do is show from when I started collecting the data to now.

I couldn’t get the video to load for some reason, but I say as far as self promoting by leaving relevant links are concerned, that it is definitely ethical if you can honestly say that anyone who reads that forum post will benefit from going to the link that you share in the post. I find that it works great not only on forums, but also sites like Yahoo Answers.

Hey, lots of good tips. I have had already added some of these comments to some of the different topic pages on my own webmaster resources website so I agree with you, basically you get out of this as much as you put into this, and it takes consistent effort. Like you said, you have been doing this for 2 years. It can take a while but it works.
