You might not realize it but everyday your doing something to help improve your online blogging. It’s the small things we don’t notice and when we start paying close attention we realize how much work goes into online blogging and engaging with other members.

The activities I talk about come in a wide variety such as article submissions, blog commenting, tweets and socially sharing on other communities such as facebook, reddit and digg. We always want to grow our blog and the activities we do each day determine how much or blogs will grow moving forward.

Are you making the most out of your marketing time? Take a look at what your planning on doing today. Is it the most productive option for marketing your blog? Is it the activity you enjoy doing the most? I want you to do this for me today and write down everything you do on a daily basis to market and promote your blogs.

You may not think it’s a big deal but if you create a mini plan for everyday your online you may start seeing more results form your marketing efforts. It sounds like a simple plan but in fact many people randomly market their blogs without any great detail on what the end goal is for that day.

An example mini blogging plan for me today is as follows,

1. Moderate, Send Invites and clean up Blog Engage.
2. Write a blog article on the communtiy blog.
3. Socially market my article on blokube and bloginteract
4. Read 5 – 10 blog articles to comment and engage with.

At first glance you may think it’s rather simple and pointless but it’s really not. If you can accomplish these goals in a timely manner you have realized your under working yourself. If you notice its hard to obtain these goals then maybe it’s time to reconsider your marketing tactics by reducing your work load.

Mini blogging goals can help you achieve more in the shorter time period. What’s your opinion? Do you find creating mini daily blogging goals is a waste of time or do you currently have similar marketing strategies?

Hi Brian! I’d be curious to know how bloggers who work a regular 9 to 5 job handle their blogging activities?

Hi Dave, I guess the only way to do this would be on breaks, lunch and after work. I’m lucky enough to have a smart phone so I can reply to a comment pretty much at any time (like right now) either way if you work 9-5 naturally you will have to do your blogging after work… It’s sad but this is the reality of the work life…

      Hi Dave,

I am a part time blogger and have a 9-5 job. Yet I am able to put so much time into blogging. I plan every day on the previous night before going to bed. That is when I create my to-do list for the next day. I concentrate only on those tasks until the list is completely taken care of.

The list usually contains the regular tasks plus additional, day-specific tasks. I am doing good. I do rise early!

      Cheers,
      Jane.

Hi Brian. There is no way I can picture my work without a daily plan. Another thing that I do is to check at the end of everyday what was done, and I write down my tasks for tomorrow.

Hi Dave. I love learning and teaching. So I take what I have learned and put it on my blog and also give classes. It is my way of helping other creatives market their wares so that they can make a living from their passion. It takes a lot of organizing and sometimes hiring others to help me accomplish my goals. All the organizing starts with a To Do List. Listing everything I need to do helps free up my mind to get the list done and get my creative mind going.

Good idea. I have my own mini blogging plan too. First off whenever I open my notebook. I checked out my email, all interactions start on the messages on my email. After that I will visit my favorite blogs to read, read and read, and then comment. Twitter and Facebook will be my next destination then. What I’m trying to abandon now is my mañana habit.

Great post. I would like to work on my blogging as well and if you have work aside that you can always squeeze in some few words to your blog while having lunch or break time at your work I usually save a few blog posts on draft and go over later when I get home from work. Sometimes having a smart phone like iphone helps a lot while you are on a bus on yoru way to work or on your way home you can blog or share pictures and so on.

When you start off, you have no formal plans to follow and you may work as and when basis. But gradually as things starts moving, you feel having a bit too many things in hand and no time to complete. Then you realize the importance of planning and time management and most often you have to start working with a plan in hand unless you are not that much serious about your blog and blogging. if you don’t, you find things going haywire and before you could realize the actual impact, its already too late.

Agree with this kind of plans. Me, I jot down to a piece of paper all my plans for the next day and stick it up to my monitor. This way, I always do my task/work in a timely and precise manner.
