Blog Engage RSS Syndication Subscription Service Bronze Membership

Over the past few years of being in the blogging business, I’ve found one thing to be the same for all bloggers; they have someone they think is the best blogger EVER!!! Even the guys who seemed to have invented this business have someone they read and/or quote on occasions. The thing is that not everyone clings to the same blogger. Some can’t breathe without reading the daily posts of the top bloggers, others spend hours skimming through the numerous posts of the mommy bloggers.

Blog Engage RSS Syndication Subscription Service Bronze Membership

Wow, it’s Friday already and that means it’s time for our weekly Blogger’s Challenge.
This week, we’re going to be stepping things up a bit. I’d really like to see everyone get involved in this so our illustrious leader has been gracious enough to offer up a free month’s Gold Membership in the RSS Syndication feed. This means the winner will have their blog added to the Blog Engage community and your articles will be automatically added to the RSS feed. You’ll also receive a copy of Brian’s first e-book, SEO Marketing For Blogging.

For this week’s challenge, I want you blog masters to explain to me what it takes to be a great guest blogger. I’ll be the first to admit that I am NOT a great guest blogger. I’ve done a few but they’re nothing to brag, or blog, about. So tell me, what is it that you look for in a guest blogger. I know you’re looking for someone who writes in your chosen niche, but what else are you looking for? Are there certain nuances that you look for? Certain characteristics?

Think of this challenge as though you were explaining the concept of guest blogging to someone who’s just getting started in the blogging business. What tips would you give them to help them succeed? What would you tell them to avoid? What rules do you use yourself, when guest blogging on someone else’s site? Take this post to the next level.

And remember kids, there are rules. They’re not hard, but without them, this wouldn’t be much of a challenge, now would it?

**Your entry must be an original post and must be posted on YOUR OWN site.
**Your entry must be a minimum of 350 words in length.
**You must mention Bloggers Challenge @ Blog Engage somewhere in the post with a link back to this post.
**And finally, when you’re post is finished, come back here and leave a link in the comments section. I can’t very well check out your stroke of genius if I can’t find it.

The way the winner will be decided will be determined by how many entries we receive. If we only get a handful, I’ll bring in some outside judges to make the final decision. If we get a lot of entries, I’ll use Random.org to pick the winner for me.

So come one, come all. Show me what it takes to create an amazing guest post on your site. Who knows, you might accidentally teach me something and I’ll be able to repay you by doing a way cool post on your site.

This weeks writing challenge will be a great opportunity for our members to look at their social networking skills and marketing habits.

Our challenge will be focused on developing new and more productive marketing strategies when it comes to marketing and promoting our blogs.

In order to successfully accomplish this weeks challenge you must look at all the social media networks, forums and websites you’re currently marketing your blogs with. From here we will be determining if your using the services the best  to your ability.

What your currently doing

First create a list of the website you currently use to market your blog. Take a look at what your currently doing in order to market your blog using these websites. Take notes on your specific actions and write them down on a  note pad. Compile a list for use in your next step as you will be comparing our marketing activities to other individuals.

What you can do better

Twitter – Right now I only use twitter to submit my blog content and that’s it. I will start improving on my twitter activities by trying to build better more stronger networking relationships. I will submit my content, add friends and follow other bloggers. I will also do more to Re Tweet other followers content and participate more within the community.

In the above example I clearly state my previous actions and how I’m going to improve my marketing efforts. I want you to do this for all the popular websites you market your blog at.

Even after extending the writing challenge I was disappointed to see not many members took the challenge and participated. I send a big thank you to all of our member who did take the time to enter and participate.

I was told the challenge was difficult but come on give me a break. All you had to do is find 10 things you could be doing better on your blog. If you cannot find 10 things trust me your in denial.

I think even the members that did participate got a little confused on what I was looking for. This wasn’t a list post that allowed you to write about anything. I had a specific subject and I don’t know if it was followed accurately. But after all said and done we got some solid submissions from some great bloggers.

Either way this challenge is done and again I thank the members that participated and you can see their entries below.

How do you submit your article?

Every Monday I will announce what the weekly writing challenge will be. Simply leave a reply in that specific article with your url or state your submission is in your comment luv.

Why participate?

Because all articles submitted to the challenge will be promoted on by me here on our word challenge linking directly to your word challenge post.

This also includes retweets from myself with over 1900 followers. Also other members will be joining us in conversations on your blog. This is a great way to find new readers and get comments.

I thought what a better way to start of the week with some personal reflection.

Sometimes we get so comfortable in the way we do things we forget to see if we are doing it to the best of our ability.

This weeks word challenge makes us take a better look at our blogs and challenges us to come up with a list of 10 things we could perhaps do better then we’re currently doing.

Things to consider

  • Writing Style
  • Article Length
  • Blog Design
  • Marketing
  • Promotion
  • Quality of Content
  • Article Research
  • Commenting
  • Relationship Building
  • more…

We all know blogging isn’t easy so doing this writing challenge will help you determine where you are struggling with your current blog and perhaps even specific area’s you can start making improvements in.

The idea is basic. Simply write an article in order of importance the top 10 things you should improve on or change when it comes to blogging.

The article should be submitted in list format, more specifically a paragraph list format. So we want what you will be changing and more importantly why you find you should improve in that specific area.

Paragraph List Post – This type of list post requires a little more content but still consists of a a list. For every list you will have a small but brief paragraph explaining what the listed number is about.

Example:

Marketing – I don’t spend anytime marketing and I should try to improve this.  I will be joining some webmaster forums and social networks in hopes to start marketing my blog more.

If you’re reading this feel free to participate. Deadline for article submission is Friday morning. Simply leave a reply with your article submission and I will add it to Friday’s weekly writing challenge wrap up.

Hello thanks for stopping by to read up on the results of our weekly writing challenge.

I would like to take a minute and bring our members up to date on some of the changes I have made. As you can see our challenge is no longer named the weekly word challenge.

I decided to name it a the weekly writing challenge which allows us to open up into other challenges that aren’t so specific to a word.

Last weeks writing challenge was list posts and round ups.  List posts are by far the most popular type of blogging styles. A list post is a post that requires you to have some sort of list within the article.

A round up post will bring together all of ones activities or actions over a specific periods of time onto one article. This can be an article regarding what you accomplished throughout the week on your blog, in life or in your career. This can also be a round  up of information leading to a conclusion or strong opinion of a specific topic or subject.

Please join me in tweeting, digging, stumbling and engaging the following weekly word challenge articles. These articles were written by our members specifically for this challenge.

How do you submit your article?

Every Monday I will announce what the weekly writing challenge will be. Simply leave a reply in that specific article with your url or state your submission is in your comment luv.

Blogohblog.com - Premium WordPress Themes

Another week passes us and we find our selves with yet another weekly word challenge wrap up.

This week is a little different because we will be making some changes that will hopefully encourage our member to participate a little bit more.

Blog Engage weekly word challenge will be changing from a word to a post type. This suggestion was from Alison and to be honest I sort of loved the idea.

Post types will include a list post and a roundup post. We will allow our member to submit either or seeing this writing challenge is pretty new.

In order to fully understand what these types are I will present the description of each for you all to read.

List Posts – List posts are by far the most popular type of blogging styles. When I search for an example all I could really find was Darren Rowse’s articles but to be honest he explains it very well. From reading the article it seems very basic. A list post is a post that requires you to have some sort of list within the article.

Types of List Posts

Basic List post – This list post will be very basic. The brief introductory to the post, a list and a conclusion. Apparently this is pretty popular because Internet users don’t’ like reading word for word anyways.

Paragraph List Post – This type of list post requires a little more content but still consists of a a list. For every list you will have a small but brief paragraph explaining what the listed number is about.

List within a post – This one is actually very easy to understand. This list type will be a normal article but inside that articel will be a list.

Round up posts – This type of post will bring together all of ones activities or actions over a specific periods of time onto one article. This can be an article regarding what you accomplished throughout the week on your blog, in life or in your career. If anyone has some better example of this I could use them. Not much was found on Google.

This week we will be doing the list post. You have until Next Friday to submit your article here on our community blog by leaving a comment with the url to your article submission.

Now without waiting anymore I present to you last weeks weekly word challenge participating articles.
