If you, like me, love twitter and want to use it to drive traffic to your blog you’ll probably have already come across a few ‘twitter schemes’ from google or youtube that didn’t go according to plan, maybe you even got your account suspended for speed-following.

Worry no longer, I have a twitter-friendly legit method of gaining thousands of twitter followers every week simply by finding an a certain type of twitter followers and pairing that information with a some great twitter clients.

If this sounds to good to be true, don’t worry – your going to have too put in some effort. But the ratio is still great 1 hour / 300-500 followers. But in reality you’ll be getting more as that ratio is targeted at relatively new twitter users (50 followers or so.)

What do you think, sounding good? let’s get started then. First we’re going to get rid of any non-follow-backers (I call them excess-tweeters.) For that we are going to use Tweepi.com.

Tweepi is a very simple twitter client that allows you to mass-unfollow (sort of – it’s slightly different though) and also find other twitter users to follow.

Let’s get started…

Log In Via The Twitter API

You don’t need to sign up to Tweepi – you just have to hit the login button in the top right hand side of Tweepi.

Flush Excess Tweeters

Go to the Flush Tab and it will tell you how many people your following who aren’t following you back.

Below that there should be a box saying something along the lines of ‘tweet this to get an extra 20 tweeples per page’ – this is a must. Go to the bottom of the page and tweet it.

Now let’s get started with the flushing.

Go to the table and click on the first user in the list.

Then go to the bottom of the table, hold Shift and click on the last user and you’ll see the whole table light up in yellow.

Then just hit the unflollow button at (either the top or) the bottom right. Repete this on every page of people who don’t follow back.

Follow Only The Best

Head over to the follow tab.

Now we need to find some influential tweeters in your niche.

Type in your niche area into Twitter Search and copy the name of the first tweeter. Then copy and paste it inter Tweepi and hit the Login Authentication button.

Then a table (you’ll notice in the same format as the Flush page) will load with a list of people and lots of data on them, for us to use this data to it’s advantage go to the options box at the top right (above table.)

Click on the Speed Mode to uncheck it. The page should reload and allow you to select Higher followers to following ratio on the Preset Targets in details.

Now that all of the followers are in order we can find the best followers that tend to follow back much, much more often than not.

That ratio is any followers:

Within 90% – 100% followers to following ratio

Last tweeted between 1 sec and 24 hrs

That’s it! so follow everyone on the page with those specifications. Repeat this throughout around 50 pages. The next day you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the amount of followers you will have received.

Take note of the occasional stunt in the loading bar that tells you that twitter doesn’t approve of you following that many people at once (Don’t worry though, it’s usually only a minute.)

Flush again after 24hrs and repeat the process.

I was doing some tweeting yesterday for some of our members here in the community and some articles I wanted to tweet but ended up passing on.

It’s hard to determine what I’m going to tweet or not tweet seeing I have so many member articles to choose from.

In today’s article I thought I would discuss the main reasons why I decide to tweet or not to tweet a members article.

Let’s face the facts this doesn’t only apply to me. I safely assume many other bloggers think the exact same way.

Way to many ads: The number one reason I don’t retweet an article is the fact that it has way to many ads. In fact I won’t even retweet an article that has an add in the wrong placement.

Pop ups: This can be in the form of ads or a newsletter. I’m not a fan of any type of pop up. In fact I have gone as far to boycott any websites or blogs that have pop ups. I’m definitely not going to send other twitter followers into a newsletter subscription pop up.

No tweetmeme button: I’m a huge fan of tweetmeme I like the set up and trust the software. I integrate it with my twitter account and enjoy the simplicity of it. If you don’t have one or something similar I most likely will not tweet your article.

Poor quality content or design: If I see it’s a short or poor quality content article I won’t even bother tweeting it. If I enjoy the bloggers and their content I will retweet it without thinking twice. If the design is nice and clean I will tweet but if it’s poorly designed or too busy looking again I will simply skip it.

The reason why I brought this up is because today I will be tweeting many of our members articles. In fact I will only be tweeting articles that have the Blog Engage profile badge or image.

What makes you decide to tweet or not tweet an article?

I ended the week last Friday with a discussion article regarding twitter and the main focus was to follow or not to follow all your twitter followers.

I thought it would be interesting to go and follow all the people that were following me on twitter.

So I went and signed into my twitter account and literally started following everyone that was following me. From these actions I have come to a conclusion that following all your twitter followers is nearly impossible.

The first thing I noticed after following all my followers was an abundance of private messages welcoming me, thanking me for following and requesting me to visit their blog, website or url’s.

So I started going through them and to my surprise I had many legit messages from bloggers requesting I visit their blog. I was fine with this and messaged back stating I was simply following them back and wanted to share blog engage with them.

So far I didn’t get one response. I’m sure the messages were all automated and these members have multiple accounts that are made for this exact reason. Perhaps I’m incorrect but so far it’s not looking so good.

Benefits of following all your followers

  • Clean your account from spam
  • Keep updated with more tweets
  • Meet new and interesting people

Why you should follow people that follow you

  • They will respect you for it
  • They will follow your tweet links more often
  • Helps build relationships
  • Keep followers longer

You’re probably wondering what the benefits were or if I think I wasted my time. Right now it’s not looking like a very productive Friday afternoon but as time passes I’m sure this will pay off.

Soon I will be able to see if people are tweeting outside of my everyday interests and easily stop following them. On another note I can also find out some amazing and interesting tweets as well.

If you haven’t joined in the previous discussions please join us and let us know your thoughts. Have you followed all your followers on twitter? If not how come and if so what benefits did you see in doing so.

I must admit I haven’t paid enough attention to my twitter account. I have tons of friends on twitter that I haven’t followed back and for this I apologize.

So today and over the weekend I’m going to follow all the friends that are currently following me on twitter.

I remember when I first started using twitter I had an e-mail come to me every time I had a new follower but this got so annoying and I started getting 20 or 30 e-mails every day. It was far easier to shut the e-mails off and simply not get them.

I found by doing this I stopped seeing who was adding me and more importantly I stopped following people back. I honestly think it’s important to follow people back when they follow your on twitter. Of course this is with the one exception of spammers lol.

I know many people follow you so you can follow them and then they un follow you in less then 24 hours. I suggest not letting that get to you. I know of a great website that will allow you to see who’s following you and more importantly who’s not following you.

Friend or Follow

Why you should follow people that follow you

  • They will respect you for it
  • They will follow your tweet links more often
  • Helps build relationships
  • Keep followers longer

So that’s my plans for the most of the day here on this lovely Friday. Hopefully you will have some time to give feedback on my idea of following all my followers.

What’s your thoughts? Are you following everyone that ads you on twitter? Do you think it’s simply to many people to follow or do you think it’s more beneficial then negative?

How do you decide who your going to follow or not follow. I look forward to the discussions and feedback.

Please join us and hang out for a bit.

The deal is pretty easy. I’m approaching over 1900 followers on twitter. If you add the Blog Engage word press plugin I will always retweet your blog article.

This is no joke but I do however have minimum expectations to be followed if you plan on joining this train ride. This really is an amazing opportunity for us all.

I also have many friends that follow me and retweet what I tweet. So by helping our community you would also be helping yourself.

The Blog Engage Button and Tweetmeme button must be right beside each other. This is so when I retweet other bloggers will also see the blog engage plugin ad perhaps visit our community to vote on your article.

You can find the blog engage plugin on our profile and promo pages.

If John chow can do it… so can you! I thought that would be a great way to open the topic. lol to anyone who gets it. Well on with the show. John Chow sells his tweets and makes money from doing so. John states clearly he sold a sponsored tweet for 1000 dollars. A commenter later stated, “Nice to see that your 140 characters are giving you that much money. That means of value of one character is $71.43″.

Let’s face it if there’s one thing we have learned is everything online for the right price is for sale. John’s not the only one selling tweets. An entire online social marketing industry is being created from this simple idea. Billions of dollars are being spent and thousands are creating revenues.

Personally I’m not into selling my tweets. I think it’s wrong and I really don’t have the right amount of followers to be doing such a thing. If I had 50,000 followers and someone asked me to tweet something for 1000 dollars I would do it without thinning twice.

The questions remains… Would you sell your tweets if asked? Have you considered it another possible way to generate more online revenues? Let’s hear some feedback let me know your thoughts.
