If your submissions at BlogEngage still get 6-7 votes max.. or if you want to hit the front page of BlogEngage every time you submit a new blog post, just follow the tips below and take the full advantage and potential of your submitted articles on BlogEngage.
I’m writing this not because I’m bored and not because I feel like there are no competitors nor too few of them…
No.
I’m writing this, say, guide, because of the inner sincere desire to meet new active bloggers, to get know them.. or maybe you!
Before I’ll reveal the tips, let me remind you the most important benefits of getting to the front page of BlogEngage.
Benefits of the Front Page
- Quality or Not – After you hit the front page of BlogEngage you’ll be able to understand, whether your article is quality or not. This is simple – if your submission gets ~20 votes or even more, then you better start some additional promotion (beyond BlogEngage) in order to reach the full potential of your work.If you have barely got 12-14 votes, then there are 2 possible explanations of it:1. It’s sad, but your article is not quality or it’s too different from what BlogEngage users are used to read. Try to figure out what articles get lots of votes, use what you’ve noticed.2. You’re barely visible for others – follow the tips in this article to improve your visibility within the BlogEngage community.
- More Comments – It’s natural and simple. If you are on the front page, people notice you and go to your blog posts. If it’s interesting or you have some known features to encourage comments(ComLuv plugin, DoFollow comments, a contest for commenters etc), you get comments.
- More Retweets of Your Own Blog Posts – BlogEngage users are extremely active bloggers and lots of them appreciate quality articles and they, actually, retweet them.
- More Traffic – Of course, the front page of BlogEngage also equals more traffic. Not too much for one successful submission, but if all of your submitted articles get to the front page during a month, you are able to receive more than 1,000 visits. Although it depends on the total number of your submissions. You’ll get ~1,000 visitors for approximately 8-10 successful articles, which is extremely cool for a beginning blog. Don’t forget, that all these 1,000 visitors are mostly bloggers, which means, that you’re dealing with very precious traffic.But remember, that BlogEngage has very fast growth. Who knows – maybe in half a year your single submission will be able to get 1,000 visits.
- Better Search Engine Rankings – No doubt, that BlogEngage improves your search engine rankings. At least, because it’s DoFollow and it has already PageRank 5.
- Faster Indexing by Google – That’s a fact. Although, I believe, that you don’t need to hit the front page for faster indexing. The submission itself would be enough.
- New Subscribers – Getting new subscribers is a “science”, where BlogEngage is a tool for it. Use it for your sake
- New Online Friends – Say “Hello” sometimes, thank for votes or for single comments. Reply and retweet. Try to help and ask for help. You’ll get friends this way.
Now the tips.
7 Tips to Hit the Front Page
- 1. Vote actively and wisely – Voting for each and every submission is crucial, but time consuming. There’s another way.Make a list of those BlogEngage members, that voted for your latest submitted articles. Vote back for all of their articles.But there’s a “but”.How would you get your first votes for your submissions? No worries, some of your first votes you’ll get just like that.. from truly active members. But, you know what.. it won’t work just like that. I mean, that you won’t be able to get to the front page and though even if you did.. believe me, this time you were lucky. And in this case there’s no 100% guarantee, that you’ll do that again. I’m revealing the following tips to make it 100%, not 95% or less, but 100%.
What you want to do, when you’ve just signed up, is to vote, vote and vote. Vote for 1000 other submissions during your first day. This will not take you more, than one hour, though you’ll feel like you are a zombie after that. Repeat that on the next day, submit your article and track all the voters you get. Make a list of links to their submissions’ pages. Now you can relax, because from this very moment all you’ll need to do is to vote for those, who voted for you.. plus, try to vote for new members and the articles, that get to the front page. This is it. Very simple and fair.
- 2. Leave Grammatically Correct Comments – This is the number 1 way of being visible… after, of course, voting. It allows you to reveal your personality as much as it shows, that you are active and you deserve to get votes. Even Brian (BlogEngage owner) always leaves comments, which is, actually, unusual for me. I haven’t used to see such site/forum administrators ,who are so active within their own community (I’m speaking about popular communities).Why “grammatically correct” comments?You’ve got to be careful with your first comments. Your future authority depends on any of your first “social steps”.One of the most important reasons of leaving comments is also the fact, that latest comments are displayed on the sidebar, which increases your visibility.
- 3. Stick to Active BlogEngage Users – Active users always vote first for those, who they know. And I bet, that most of them also have their own “must-vote-for-them” lists.Don’t rush with this tip. It takes time to become recognizable. It takes time to become a friend. Being natural and polite is the greatest key to success in this case.
- 4. Use Catchy Titles And Images for Your Submissions – It does work – all the time.The good news for you is also that descriptions don’t really matter for getting votes. Though they do matter for SEO of your submissions.Why do you need to optimize your submissions?Don’t you want some additional SE traffic? Those visitors, that come via search engines will have no choice, but to click your link to read full article.
Though.. I must admit, that right now the numbers of such traffic are very poor.
One more reason is that you don’t want to compete with your own submissions, which is rather possible, if your submitted articles have the same title and description.
- 5. Submit Your Submissions to BlogEngage Groups – Joining groups definitely increases your chances to get more votes.Join more, than 1 group. Get the most out of it.
- 6. Not on the First Page After 1 Day? – Don’t get upset. Just ask some of your friends from BlogEngage to vote for your submission. This is why you should also consider adding your BlogEngage pals to Twitter, which makes it very easy to contact them and ask for help.Don’t be shy asking for help. Everyone needs it from time to time. Be the first one to ask now, and believe it or not – next time you’ll be the first one on the list of that person, who to ask for help.
- 7. Install BlogEngage Button – I’m still testing, whether it helps or not, but it definitely makes it easier to vote for your submissions. Not sure what’s the actual percentage of efficiency of having BlogEngage button on your blog, but you can share your thoughts and observations on it in comments.Anyways, install BlogEngage button and test it.
2 Bonus Tips: How to Stay Longer on the Front Page of BlogEngage?
- Before Submitting – Simply vote for all the recent submissions, that have 7-9 votes. They now will get to the front page faster, than you.
- After Submitting – After you hit the front page, vote only for submissions, that have 1-5 votes. This will increase your chances to get more, than 10 votes and to be a little bit more visible.
There’s Even More, Than the Front Page
All the published submissions are divided into:
- Recently Popular;
- Best of the Week;
- Best of the Month;
- Best of the Year;
- Best of All
Following the mentioned tips above will surely help you to have at least one (or even more) great submission, that will become the best of the year.
Moreover, I’m sure, that in the nearest future the necessary number of votes to get to the front page will be increased by Brian. Now it’s only 10. The more number of members, the bigger the necessary number of votes will be.
Not having some strong strategy will make you weaker, than others.
