But there are few things are which are evergreen i.e. sure shot methods to get success in blogging. Let’s discuss few such blog posts ideas which never fail:

Spice It Up – Add Some Controversy

Give the readers what they want; yes everyone wants some spice added to their life. So if you are looking for a good response then controversy is the answer. Write a post about the hot topics around, even something which they are fiery about that will attract them and make them comment. Contrary to that, if you post which everyone likes then they will share it with their friends, on their social network profiles. But being a professional blogger one need to know where to draw the line, do not post anything which hurts someone emotions and sentiments.

In this you will please the visitors, and will surely find many coming back to your site in search of m ore good stuff.

Talk about others also

Share with your readers what interest you. Share with them those interesting sites and blogs which you follow or read regularly. This post of your make them appreciate you more. This way you can ask for link back from the sites you have mentioned in your post.

Use Mix of Text , Images and Videos

It’s not advisable only to make text only post on your blog that tends to get boring at sometime. So add interactive images, even videos to make your post interesting. Blog Engage $650 USD Guest Blogging Qualifying Article

So you have been thinking about writing a blog? You’ve been on the sidelines reading others blogs and thinking.  Are you are wondering if you can do it? Why just think about it? Why not start your blog today?

Not sure where to start? Well it may depend on a few things:

  • Do you need to make money from it?
  • Are you doing it for a purpose – a non-profit that you can want to promote?
  • Is it for fun?
  • Is it to promote another commercial website of yours?
  • Is it to be used as a journal for your children?
  • Is it to showcase photos?

Those are some of the questions you must ask yourself before you begin. Then how much time can you invest in it? Do you have any technical knowledge? Do you know HTML?  Do you enjoy learning? You must answer these questions before you can choose from the 4 ways I will present you with below.

  1. 1.      BLOGGER – The first blog I would suggest to a new blogger is Blogger if you were not taking it to a full blown professional level.  Blogger is a FREE platform by Google.  Here are some of my reasons for suggestion this one to you:
  • FREE – It will not cost you anything.
  • Community – It has a wonderful community of bloggers than can become your readers and friends
  • Make Money – You can have ads on it to make some money
  • Fairly Easy – You don’t need a lot of technical skill or time to get it started
  • Google – It’s from Google
  • Great Look – You can make Blogger blogs look great with their themes and options
  1. 2.      WORDPRESS.COM – Another version I would suggest is WordPress.com – This would be for strictly not making money and never having ads on the blog. This is great for non-profits or beginners that someday may go with the self-hosted site option.
  • FREE
  • Easy
  • Community – It too has a community of readers
  • Themes – You can pick from many FREE themes or purchase a more costume theme
  • This type blog of blog can be taken down at any time by WordPress
  1. 3.      WORDPRESS.ORG – The best blog you can invest your time and money in.
  • Professional – This type of blog will look professional
  • Make Money – This blog will allow ads of all kinds and advertisers like to see a professional blog
  • Plug-ins – You can quickly make things happen with plug-ins on this type of blog format
  • Your Space – It’s your space on the web by being self-hosted – not relying on Google or WordPress.com
  • Pricey – This one will cost you some money vs. all the others types of blogs. You must host it on the web and that will cost you something every month.  You can pay as little as $3.50 a month for great service by Selby Media. You also may want to pay for some fancy themes.
  • Customize – You may customize your WordPress.org blog with a custom theme like I did by Vanita.
  • SEO – This is the blog to get the most SEO from which will lead to more traffic to your blog
  • Time – Be prepared to need time to set this one up and learn
  • Technical – If you are not technical it could be a problem unless you pay to have it set-up for you – that could be a great option for you
  1. 4.      TUMBLER – A popular choice for photo, music or fashion type blogs. It’s called a Tumblog.
  • FREE
  • Easy – Very easy to use – probably the simplest of all types
  • Short – Great for short type blogs
  • Popular – A popular choice for fashion blogs or photo blogs
  • Themes – Hundreds of Free themes to choose from
  • Format – This format has been known to go down once a in a while

6903980v8gj1qsa

Once you pick your type of blog you should get a custom URL – why keep the .blogspot or .wordpress? It’s very inexpensive and you can go to GoDaddy as I recommended to get your URL – remember to register it for at least 2 years.  (Google prefers that for SEO).

Then think about a schedule. How often do you want to blog? It’s up to you. I would recommend at least once a week or several times a week if you can. You don’t want to burn yourself out or get bored by not posting either. It’s a balancing act that only you must decide on.

After you post – Where do you share? That’s the recipe for getting visitors. You can’t just post and shut the computer off. You have to share it with others and get social.

Here are some ways to share that new blog:

  • Commenting – Commenting on other blogs in your niche
  • Twitter – a must for bloggers
  • Facebook – If you are there share away or start a page just for your blog
  • Google+
  • Pinterest- But you must have some nice images
  • Stumble Upon
  • Digg
  • Reddit
  • Directories – Be choosy on these
  • Scoop.it – Content curation
  • Blogging Communities – like Blog Engage, Blue Frog, Bloggers, etc.
  • Email – Email your friends and relatives
  • Share other’s content too! Very important not to be selfish out there.
  • You Tube – Add some video to your blog and share on YouTube (Something I must do more of myself)

And then of course it’s time to do it all again and again. Did I also mention have FUN? If not you will not continue to update that blog and enjoy the experience to keep it going week after week. Too many bloggers quit before they have any success from blogging.

What is success in blogging? It all depends on how you define that success. It could be your first comment, your first affiliate sale, your first 100 page views or that first Google ranking.  It could be the pleasure of getting up in the morning to write. It could be the calming effect blogging has on you. It could be from the friendships you formed from blogging.  So go have some fun and start that blog today!

7 Killer Tips to Write Content that Readers would Love to Read

It happens quite often that we research a lot for an article before hitting the publish button and sometimes we do not get the expected opinions or feedback from our readers.

Everyone wants Good amount of opinions from their readers to the posts that they publish on their blogs.

It happens often that do a lot of research for the Content but in the end, to our surprise, we aren’t able to get the desired feedback that we expected.

Actually our post isn’t able to give that catchy feel in it and the most possible reason is lack of research in it. However, I have been blogging since long now and I have learnt several tips to get that catchy feel in the Content from Pro Bloggers like Darren Rowse, Life Hacker, etc.

The tips I would be sharing today would help you to write such content that readers would love to read and stick to it from bottom to end.

1. Exclusive Topic

When readers come to your blog, they want to read something Exclusive or new as they have never wanted to read boring content. They come to your blog with a hope that you will deliver something really interesting and to them. It’s worthless if you are posting and repeating the same thing again that your readers are already aware of.

In fact, Topic is the base of what you are writing. If you want more audience to your content that readers would love to read, then an Interesting and Exclusive topic is very necessary to attract more audience.

Personal Tip:  Never write something local or National, write something that people all around the world would love to read i.e. Write Global. Write something that people find interesting and it covers wide source of information. As such, you would be able to drive more audience.

2. Catchy Headlines

Whenever a reader visits your blog to read something, the first thing he sees is the headline of the blog post. In fact, do you know that when I was new to Blogging I submitted my first Guest Post as ‘3 Ways to Drive Traffic to your blog’ but the admin changed the headline to ‘3 Killer Ways to Drive Traffic to your blog’ and do you know that ‘Killer’ term made much impact on the readers and enticed them to read the full post. And from that day itself, I learnt the importance of writing Catchy Headlines So I strongly recommend you to write an attention grabbing headline to force the reader hit on ‘Read More’ button and take a glance at the whole post.

3. Make your Intro Para Interesting

Now when talking about intro paragraph, then intro paragraph is the first paragraph of your Post. In fact, when readers checks to read any post, the first lines reader reads is from the Intro paragraph. Try to make your Intro Para more interesting as it will force the reader to stick to the post from beginning to the end. Add some catchy lines and little explaining about you would be sharing today, So that the reader could be aware about he is going to read further.

If you keep your Intro Para very boring and do not explain about the post, then chances are rare for the reader to dive for further reading.

4. Write within Points and Sub-headings

Do you know writing in Points and Sub-headings is working Great nowadays and you know why? Because it makes your post easy to understand and readable. In fact, Readers really like to read within points and Sub-headings as it helps to understand the post easily and even helps to readers to read the post within less time. Explaining your posts into several points makes it easy to understand and readers enjoy reading your content. Nowadays, you can see that an absolute majority of posts are written within points and Sub-headings as it makes the post more controversial as well as easy & understandable.

5. Use of relevant Images

‘A Picture is worth of thousand words’

Do you know Images have a Great Impact on your content? In fact, Images are a vital part of a blog post and it entices the reader and makes the post more Interesting.

So Use of conceptual i.e. relevant makes the post more Interesting, easy & understandable for the readers and it explains the whole story of your content at a single glimpse.  Pictures attract Readers. Well, do you know about ‘The Bad Blogger’, He uses pictures of sexy girls in his post and that creates a huge impact on the minds of readers.

So, Inclusion of a conceptual, interesting and an attractive image is necessary to make your content readable and catchy.

 6. Make it Short & Sweet

Try to make your post short & humorous, so as to attain more readership. Always try be more humorous, so that the reader enjoys reading an ever get bored. Well, by short post, I mean that do not make it up to 5000 words as most readers do not have this much time to go through such lengthy Posts. So, keep your post short enough that reader would find enough time to read the whole post. So, keep your posts short and humorous.

7. Positive Attitude

Well, I think everyone knows the importance of positive attitude in this living world but same plays an important impact in the online world when a reader reads your post.

In fact, do you know that – “Attitude is a Small Thing that makes a huge difference” and yes, it does has a Great Impact on the minds of your Readers.

Well, start your post with some positive signs and let them believe that this post is worth reading.

So, guys be positive with your blog readers and try to explain your posts with personal experiences as this makes your post enjoyable.

Make your post with motivational quotes and act like a helper, not as a salesman. Always be ready to help your readers and write and explain posts like a friend, not as a Teacher.

My Final Words

I shared some simple tips that must be kept in mind while writing a post, and as such, the reader will enjoy reading the post and stick to it from bottom to end.

These tips will help to raise the catchy feel in your article and as such, makes your post readable and easy to understand. I strongly recommend you to develop your own catchy style of writing and improving your writing skill would help to grab more audience to your blog and gaining loyal leaders.

By blogging, you’ve opened a dialogue with your readers in which they may respond to you, refute your point, offer suggestions and present questions. Unfortunately, this open forum leaves your well-intentioned blog open to abuse.

Because comments are typically anonymous, your blog can flood with mean, crude or irrelevant responses, burying anything useful a genuine reader might have left behind. Know who you’re dealing with before you decide if and how to respond to the people commenting on your blog.

1. Honest Human Beings

We’ll start with the comments you actually welcome and work our way down.

Ideally, people will interact with you by way of questions, comments and critiques. If your blog pertains to credit card processing for small businesses, for example, a commenter might suggest a new internet payment gateway application – a topic that would be relevant for an upcoming post. Likewise, a commenter could request additional information, prompting you to respond directly, update your blog or address the question in a future post.

Responding directly to these types of commenters has its benefits. You can generate new lines of thinking and even earn a following over time.

2. Self-promoters

Self-promoters can be insufferable, especially because there’s little you can do beyond reading their comments and rolling your eyes.

They often are disguised as genuine commenters. Their feedback can come in the form of a defense (if your blog is critical) or an all-out product plug that has little to do with the topic being discussed. Sometimes the self-promoter will attempt to steer your readers toward his own blog.

You have few options for handling these commenters. You want to be fair and allow everyone their say, but you don’t want your blog to become a message board for people peddling products. Your best strategy is to avoid direct responses, but hold off before flagging these guys as spammers.

That said, a fine line exists between self-promoters and spammers.

3. Spammers

It’s the age-old question: Which came first, the Internet or spammers? Spammers wreck your email account, infiltrate your Facebook page, occasionally send you text messages, and now they’re after your professional blog. You can spot spam right away because it has absolutely nothing to do with your post. Sometimes it’s selling something, and other times it’s just gibberish.

Fortunately, you have some options for filtering spam:

  • Require commenters to validate that they are human, or even have them create a user account. The downside is that this makes commenting tedious and discourages genuine interaction.
  • Many blogging applications help you filter spam by allowing you to “flag” certain comments, such as those that include links.
  • Spam-spotting software can identify and block fake IP addresses that indicate a spammer is behind the comment.
  • Block specific keywords, “Viagra” or “Nigerian prince,” for example. If other words rub you the wrong way, block them, too.
  • Set up an RSS feed that monitors when comments are added so that you can quickly spot and delete inappropriate ones.

Keeping ahead of spammers is a constant battle. But even the most irrelevant spam won’t irk you like trolls.

4. Trolls

Some people are just jerks. Trolls only want to fight with you. They’ll say nasty things to and about you, and they’ll complain about your post. What you’re writing about doesn’t matter, whether it’s politics, recipes for fried chicken or product reviews for cut-resistant gloves.

The goal is to get you to engage back. Sometimes it’s very tempting to respond. But more times than not, it’s best to ignore them.

You also might be tempted to delete the comment. If it’s especially scathing and obviously malicious, then delete away. But do not delete a comment simply because you disagree with it. Other readers will take note and could censor themselves for fear of getting blocked themselves. Or they might turn away from your blog entirely.

I’m sure you’ve been hit by different types of commenters, so feel free to tell me about your experiences below. But be warned: I won’t respond to trolls.

RSS and Marketing Services

The universal truth that binds all bloggers is that they want more readers. It doesn’t matter if you’re attracting the millions of TMZ.com or attracting the dozens at Pink Poodle Fashion Collars, there is never such a thing as too many readers for a blog.

In order to gain an ever growing number of steady, loyal readers, there is no online marketing strategy that can come close to the efficiency and power of email marketing. Savvy, smart, and popular bloggers know that building a strong email newsletter subscription list is the secret to a booming blog, so here are the top five tips to ensure the level of success of Blogging’s Big Guns.

1. Prominent email subscription form

Your email subscription form is the single most important element on your blog page directly after your blog entries themselves. Therefore, don’t bury them at the bottom of a sidebar or (gasp) in a text link that leads to another page where the prospective subscriber can enter their information.

The top right hand corner is generally the best place to locate a prominent, pleasingly designed, self-explanatory subscription text-entry form. Email subscription forms can also be successfully integrated at the very end of posts with a blurb informing your reader that further information on this topic is exclusively available to subscribers.

2. Email content as sidebars

The aspect of offering specific additional in-depth information on the subject of your blog post is a very effective way to drive new subscribers to your newsletter. It is imperative that you don’t trick your readers into subscribing by structuring your blog posts like jokes and reserving the punch line to your newsletter content.

Your blogs should continue to be self-contained and stand-alone, but in any story there is a wealth of extra data which helps the reader comprehend and obtain a broader perspective on the issues. Consider the art of including complementary information in a newsletter similar to a sidebar and you’ll hit the target every time.

3. Provide valuable incentives

No matter where you turn on the internet you’re assailed with exhortations to tell your friends about everything from ways to avoid foreclosure all the way down to the latest acne cream. This constant barrage has served to desensitize many web readers to the point that they no longer care to share anything at all.

The best way to overcome this sharapathy is to provide a valuable incentive for obtaining new email subscribers through your reader’s actions. Avoid prizes for the highest subscriber contributors as those numbers are easily gamed, but provide items of value to every sharer such as access to PDF ebooks and white papers, podcasts, videos, or anything else you can offer that is exclusive and valuable.

4. Email opt-in link in your forum sig

As a blogger you probably spend more hours per day on the online forums related to your industry than you do watching television, so you should make each forum entry count.

Placing a prominent link in your sig to your email opt-in form, with a valid reason as to why your forum colleagues should subscribe will not only drive more email addresses onto your list, but it will ensure that the new readers are well-informed, interested parties which will likely contribute to your commenting section adding liveliness and a broad variety of perspectives to your blog.

5. Roundup the best comments in your newsletter

Many commenters are driven by “perceived fame” as they are by the desire to contribute their perspective to the issues tackled by your blog, so why not cater to their commenting narcissism?

Consider that blog comments can be a primary currency for your blog’s popularity, therefore compiling a roundup of the most incisive and valid comments to send out in your email newsletter can not only make your commenters feel like they’re “special” but prove to your subscribers that your blog is thriving and alluring to a wide range of readers. Make sure that your email roundups are regularly promoted on your blog page!

Properly implementing these top five email subscription tips can mean less Pink Poodle and more TMZ Harvey. Once you’ve settled on an email layout, added your opt-in link to your sig, or send out your blog posts in email form, you’ll have no problem driving a whole new group of readers to your blog.

Blog Engage $650 USD Guest Blogging Qualifying Article

Here is the transcript of the podcast in blog post form :D (If you don’t want to hear the podcast, you can read this :D ).

Hey Guys, This is Jeevan Jacob John from Blognetworking101.com

Today we are going to talk about why we should or shouldn’t over deliver content to our audience.

First off, I want to thank Brian for hosting this contest. It is great to participate in another one – the excitement and fun that we get cannot be replaced by anything else. Of course, there is something called prize money that we all hope to win ;) Anyways, let’s start talking about over delivering content.

I want to start with a question: Do you “Over-deliver” to your audience?

As with any topic, this topic also has two sides to it.

One side says that you should over deliver content.

Lot of others tell you to wait for some time and do everything a bit slowly.

Do you know why that is?

Well, that’s exactly what we are going to discuss in this blog post. We will also talk about what we should do (whether we should over deliver or not?).

Let’s start with the advantages of over delivering content, alright?

Over delivering Content: Why you should do so?

To be honest with you, I don’t even know whether we should use the word “over deliver” – I hate that word because a lot of bloggers who don’t deserve to use it – because they don’t provide any value – use it a lot and try to teach others about over delivering your audience.

I also want to tell you that I am against “over delivering content” because you can’t over deliver. You can only give something beyond their expectations – which fortunately you can achieve by just being useful.

Psst: Not related to this, but I feel that I should include this here: Apple (the company) is a a good and bad example of over delivering content.

They invented and reinvented products for better functionality and user experience.

And then they decide to take use of their earlier efforts and do shit work and make profits.

Right now, Apple is seriously “low” on innovation, they are focusing too much on reinventing and making profits (just look at iPad 1 & 2 or iPhone 4 etc). These days, there aren’t much features added to it, but since it is Apple, they are still able to sell and make profits (thanks to their serious work with establishing their brand).

But, if they don’t get back with innovation, their company is certainly going to “go down” in a few years.

Now, the reason why I told you all that is because I want you to understand the importance of going beyond consumer expectations – Apple was able to go beyond consumer expectations with their earlier products (and people still expect great products out of Apple, so the perceived value of Apple the company is really high among people – which is why lot of people still spend lots of money on buying Apple products).

Moral: Once you go beyond consumer expectations a few times, you can take advantage of that and stay high for a time frame (but you still need to get back with innovative stuff after some time, or else some other guy is going to take your “position”).

Going beyond consumer expectations, your advantages:

  • Strong consumer trust and loyalty.
  • Builds your brand.
  • You can take advantage and make more profits.

Now, let’s talk about why you shouldn’t go beyond consumer expectations (or as one would say, why you shouldn’t over deliver?)

Why You Shouldn’t Over Deliver?

The primary reason lies within the first portion of this article (why you should over deliver).

If you go beyond consumer expectations, then you certainly need to do that in the future to maintain your brand’s position.

People still expect more from you, because you went beyond their expectations. So, you really need to be careful when working with your audience.

Over delivering:

  • Takes time and effort.
  • If you give it all away right now, what are you going to do for the future?
  • Your audience grows over time, you will either need to recycle the article (reinvent the products like Apple did with iPhone) or keep some of your tips for the future – but remember: techniques do get less effective over time, so the earlier you give, the better it is (But, when you have a small audience, for instance: You just started a new blog, should you spend lot of time on writing content, you should focus on promoting your blog and reaching a larger audience, right? Right and wrong. You need to write enough content to keep your existing readers happy and at the same time, you need to keep some for tomorrow – when you have a bigger audience.

So, what’s the big deal? What’s the solution?

Now that you have seen the advantages and disadvantages of over delivering (or going beyond consumer expectations), let’s take a look at the solution:

Stay in the middle.

  • Write “awe-inspiring” posts every 1-2 months (take time writing these posts, provide the maximum value). Put the most efforts into these posts. 1 awe inspiring post per month is definitely good. Note: Awe-inspiring means something beyond the consumer expectations.
  • Let all other posts be simply valuable and actionable (don’t even try to be awe inspiring!) because too much of everything is bad! (refer back to the disadvantages to know why you shouldn’t let all your posts/products be awe-inspiring).
  • Shamelessly promote your content (along with others’s content that you find interesting and valuable), engage with others via Twitter, FB fan page (use Facebook as your fb page admin while engaging with other bloggers), Linkedin groups and G+.

When it comes to promoting others’ stuff, I recommend that you share only stuff that you find really valuable (it builds your own value among your followers and friends). I used to use dlvr.it automated service automatically retweet stuff from my fellow bloggers  - which indeed is a great idea, but you see, many fellow bloggers can also write content that neither me or my followers are interested in. Another reason why you shouldn’t use automated services with tweeting (except for buffer app) is because that people tend to care less when they know it is automated (you don’t receive any thanks and over time this will seriously affect the relationship between you and the blogger). Over time, the blogger may feel that you don’t care that much about spending direct time reading the article and sharing it.

Staying in the middle is something that everyone likes (even our body likes the idea of sticking with the middle , 37 degree Celsius is a medium temperature in which our body works “perfectly”).

Now, I want your thoughts with this?

What do you think?

Over delivering content? Is it something that we should do (at all, consistently or once in a while)?

What’s your take? Let me know of your valuable thoughts because you know that your thoughts will certainly help me to gain the money ;)

Blog Engage $650 USD Guest Blogging Qualifying Article

ok, so i mucked up, i didn’t understand the guidelines or rules. i have a history of not grasping instructions. although dear reader i do think that a set of very simple “rules for dummies” could help very simple dummies like me.

well it seems i have to post a post about posting, seo, tips, tricks, marketing, design and another reasonably dry subjects. the range is limited only by my own ignorance it seems. i don’t think i can do it justice but i’ll try, only because it’s the understanding of these things that will help you to spread the word about your blog or website. i know that tbaoo could do with such clarity. more readers, greater quality of hits, comments and if all’s well in the cyberspace universe, more money for you. i’d buy that for a dollar.

firstly, take the advice of the experts and you’ll find many of them residing within and enjoying the benefits of blog engage. it’s a mecca for the knowledgable. just click on the banner above if you have any doubts.

having doubts is a natural human reaction, all you need to do is find out what the whole thing is about and your doubts will be calmed. even though calm is not a normal frame of mind for a blogger, the right amount of tension is healthy i think.

this list was first posted on tbaoo and i think serves me well in completing this contest entry task. please ad your own great tips below and let’s see if it comes to anything. thanks brian, hold on tight and here we go: (this is targeted at wordpress but could apply to other formats i think ?)

  •  decide if you really want to write, show, or document your life
  • decide what parts of it you want to share
  • decide what part of other people’s life you might what to expose
  • don’t use blogger – it’s so absolutely bulky and frustratingly annoying
  • do get a free wordpress theme and their hosting to start off, check this out for a list of options
  • after 3 months of regular posting and if you’re still keen to continue while developing your skills and audience, get your own domain name .. just a .com will do, they’re cheap
  • find a local or international hosting company that fits your budget, it’s not that expensive
  • learn how to upload and manage your blog files via ftp
  • major point here !! wordpress really is the easiest way to manage your material
  • insert loads of relevant photos into your blog
  • make sure that you figure out the correct size of the photos within your theme
  • don’t publish the admin and meta section in the side bar
  • don’t fall into the trap that we all have in the past and overload your sidebar, footer, header or posts with badges, free directory links or other unnecessary clutter
  • make sure that you remain true to the reason you decided to have a blog in the first place
  • have loads of fun
