Blog Engage RSS Syndication Subscription Service Bronze Membership

Last week I started a short series of learning from other bloggers. I think it’s a great way for many of us to see what makes or breaks a blogger. As you know many of our blogging members all have similar behaviors that lead them towards blogging success.

The three bloggers in today’s article are very well known and have developed an amazing online brand reputation for quality content, social media marketing and more. My hopes is to introduce you to them and for you to follow them as they continue to grow their blogs. learn from what they do and practice it on your own blog.

The first blogger I want to talk about is Justin aka The Dragon Blogger. Justin has been a member of the Blog Engage community for almost three years. He’s is the perfect example of how to build a strong online brand using the Blog Engage community. One of the most important aspects to know about Justin is his dedication to his blog and readers. You can look at any comment thread on Justin’s blog and he is always providing quality feedback and support to anyone that leaves a question.

The next blogger I want to talk about is Wong from The Bad Blogger. Wong has also been a member of the Blog Engage communtiy for some time, September of 2009. Wong fully understands what’s needed to build online relationships and a strong brand. If you have been following Wong you may have noticed has integrates sex as an element into his posts. This is either done with a picture of a woman or something along these lines. Wong ensures us it does in fact increase traffic and overall engagement on his blog. Sex sells baby!

Our next blogger is by far the newest to Blog Engage out of all mentioned in our article. Andrew has been a great addition into our community. His experience online with social media marketing has proven time and time again to benefit everyone reading the engage blog. Andrew has many writers on his blog always keeping the content fresh and interesting. If your wanting to learn more about marketing online, content marketing then definitely take a few moments of your day and visit his blog.

I hope you enjoyed the article! Make sure to check out these bloggers and learn from their marketing activities! Engage with them and build online relationships. If you have any feedback or questions I’m always here to talk about it so leave a comment!

Sometimes blogging can become over whelming. We have so much to remember, What to do, What not to do, when to do it, and when not to do it. At times the entire process of blogging can be very exhausting.

Trying to find your spot in the blogosphere can be difficult. It’s not easy trying to fit in and like in life the same obstacles can be a serious issue for many bloggers. I find the easiest way to fit in when blogging is to look at what other bloggers are doing.

In today’s article I want to show few examples of how you can help your blog fit in and become a healthy and active part of the blogosphere and the Blog Engage community. These are just some things I’ve noticed other successful bloggers accomplish.

smallbusinessfinanceforum

The first blog I want to discuss is the Small Business Finance Forum Blog. This blog is owned and operated by Nicole Fende who is also the lead author. Similar to other companies Nicole has successfully integrated an active community on her website by engaging with her visitors through her blog.

A few things I want to talk about are social media marketing, integrated design and RSS subscription options. Nicole has done an amazing Job integrating twitter, Facebook and other social media sites into her blog. She has included all her profile links allowing all visitors to easily follow here activity. Nicole has managed to successfully integrate her blog into the look and feel of the entire website. Also as you can see Nicole has added her Feedburner e-mail subscription option in the top right hand corner inviting her visitors to subscribe to her new content.

Another site I want to mention is the Degrees Online Blog. Personally I think this is one of the nicest wordpress and main site integrations I have seen. Though they haven’t included social media marketing into the site they have still managed to maintain consistency in their published content. I wanted to note that because some sort of blogging consistency is important to your readers! However with that said they have added the twitter share button to their individual article posts. This is something we should all be doing and please remember to include your twitter handle so people can easily follow you.

The next blog I want to look at is special because it’s a health blog but what makes it special is it’s a rare health blog that actually provideds positive and helpful content to it’s members and readers. I wanted to share this health blog and help remove some of the criticism I see in the blogosphere about these type of blogs. Clearly you can see the quality of Michel’s Raw Food Blog is top notch.

Michelle has integrated Twitter, Facebook and other social media profiles into the sidebar easily allowing readers and customers to follow on Facebook and other social media websites. This helps build brand awareness and helps the blog grow which in return will lead to more customers. Something else you may find similar is the position to their e-mail subscription. It’s right up top where their readers can easily see and subscribe to it.

Overall I think the learning process of blogging starts from looking at what other professional bloggers are doing! I’ll be the first to admit all my ideas have come from other bloggers regarding social marketing or simply designing my sidebar.

So what’s your thoughts? Do you learn from other bloggers? Are you implementing ideas from some of your favorite blogs on your site? Would you rather try to be original and do you own things? I mean in all reality these are many things were all doing and perhaps it’s impossible to be unique on these aspects of marketing and blogging.

I said it once and I’ll say it again with authority. Blog Engage has some of the most elegant, unique and amazing bloggers on the web.

I’m sitting here on my PC going through the latest upcoming articles and I’m so impressed with all your content.

I said to myself, self I want to do a post including screen shots of random members blogs “showcasing” the quality of our members sites.

I’m really impressed everyone and you should feel proud of what you all accomplished. So without any bias and in an absolutely random selection process I present to you the blogs of our blog engage community.

The first blog caught my eye with the catchy titles and unique design. The content is great and I”m proud to have this blogger as a member.

After viewing a few more articles I found a great looking blog with a pretty decent read on twitter. Check it out for sure.

I continued on my mission looking for yet another more amazing blogs and bloggers. I actually ran into a newer member of our community. She’s a blogger Poet and I loved her second last poem it was really nice. This week her her latest release is Breaking Point.

Breaking Point

So I’m having a lot of fun randomly visiting the latest upcoming articles. We have such an amazing community of bloggers this is great stuff. The next blogger has amazing content for anyone interested in designs or photography. This blogger normally creates lists of 30 best images type of posts. You will often find amazing tutorial here as well.

Burnt Wood Text Effect – Photoshop Tutorial

So far it’s been pretty good. We have great content mixed with great design. I love when these two blogging elements clash. The next blogger has really unique content and honestly this is one of the few blogger template I think has class and style.

I’m on the fourth page now of articles. Sorry if I skipped you but we have some tough competition here. I love Brand’s blog but honestly I don’t think the social icons do it well. I would suggest the compact style. Brandon I admire your ability to help others and that’s why I still add you here.

Our first Social Spotlight. Our Social Spotlight is similar to the Community Spotlight except this actually involves the blogger. In other words a social spotlight can be considered as a blogger interview. All blog engage social spotlights and community reviews will be based of blogengage members only. With pleasure I introduce to you a Mr. John Sullivan.

rotate

Social Spotlight with John Sullivan from Pot Politics

brian

Brian: Hi John welcome to the blogengage social spotlight. Please take a moment and introduce yourself to our members.

john

John: My name is John Sullivan. I have been blogging a little less then 2 yrs.I live in San Antonio but am from NYC. I got into blogging when I came back to be with my wife after a break up and to stay out of trouble.I thought blogging was going to be some kind of luv feast where everyone would be visiting each other all day everyday. I went about 8 months before I made a dime. I sometimes look at my old blogspot blog just to see that this is something that I have stuck with.

brian

Brian: John, We’ve been blogging the same amount of time pretty much. please make sure to give us that url to your old blogspot blog I think our readers would like to see it. John I would like  to ask, what do you offer our readers in comparison to others bloggers and what makes your blog truly unique?

john

John: I got into the do follow craze awhile back when once again I “thought” it was going to be another luv feast. I blog about whatever I want sometimes some political rants mainly things I think bloggers will like.  Something unique that I offer is help and manners. I notice many bloggers don’t help each other or bother to say thank you well I help people and if you do something for me I’m sure to say thanks :)

brian

Brian: You sure thought blogging was going to be a love fest didn’t you? John you have been so supportive of the blog engage community I cannot even thank you enough. If I haven’t officially said thank you please except this, Thank You! Alright Alright the interview must continue… John our readers want to know, where are you currently marketing and promoting your blog?

john

John: I joined blogengage after getting fed up with the lack of support on Blogcatalog.I have seen 1000′s of bloggers quit and I have gained some real friends but it took along time. I often write REAL truthful post I don’t lie and say it’s going to be easy. I remind myself that the people that were successful when I started have been doing this for years.I’m bored with twitter and facebook. I was a BIG fan of mixx until they turned on bloggers and made their links no followed

brian

Brian: John it’s sad to see a fellow blogger have such issues when trying to socially connect with friends.  I actually removed all my blogs from blogcatalog for this exact reason! No Follow, NO Thanks! Especially my content! Can you imagine they make it mandatory to add a link back to them. How hypocritical is that? I like your attitude John and always have. Alright look, if you were to suggest anything to our blogging community what would it be. feel free to mention anything regarding life, blogging or lessons learned.

john

John: For anyone new I would suggest you stay positive. I went around confronting many well known people and although I don’t regret it save yourself the trouble it’s not worth it. Keep your site fresh and your hand out to meet new people. I’m happy with my blog so far but in my mind I’m not even half way there. I’m fortunate that one lady that I meet day one has stuck by me and thanks to her I make enough to do what I want when I want and I don’t have to work. I don’t play that John Chow game and basically keep my blogging and affiliate success separate. I found that people don’t want to hear your making thousands a month when they are making little, I know I didn’t. Look at your blog like a house. It will build equity and over time you will have something valuable in the mean time don’t quit and look for the few cool people out there that will have your back that’s what I did. I want to thank Brian for asking I have alot of respect for him because he cares about bloggers and so do I.

brian

Brian: Staying positive is huge when it comes to successful blogging. Your words are wise John. With your experience and popularity I’m sure our members will take your suggestion to heart. Thanks so much for participating our our first social spotlight.

john

John: Peace and thanks,
