Blog Engage $500 USD Guest Blogging Qualifying Article
Blogging is Killing yourself. Weird, right? You may be wondering I have gone nuts. If you are wondering so, you might have been in this world of blog-o-sphere for a while. Just roll back a bit. To the timeline of your career, to the point of life, when you was just an amateur who was startled in the competitive arena of blogs! Ever since that, you evolved, you changed and you did some sacrifices to earn the heights in your blogging career. I guess, now you agree to me that blogging was indeed killing you. Still not convinced, then read on
.
Were you a Nerd?
Weren’t you a nerd, once? In one point of life, you liked solitude. I bet, you still like to be alone at times. You were a sort of introvert who loved to run away from the social life. You find it hard to mingle with everyone in the society. If you were a nerd, am pretty sure that you are not ‘The Nerd’ anymore. To reach this respectable height in the world of tons of blogs, you had to interact with many fellow bloggers. You had to interact with your commenters to keep your blog alive. You had to do a heck lot of social networking to market your blog.
You hated studying!!!!
Remember the days when you had a lot to study and ended up in studying nothing. Ya, once you hated reading. You hated study. But, what are you doing now? You are reading many blog posts. Being passionate towards blogging, you have been learning a lot. You hate study and still you are into blogging which is a learning experience.
MATH, Yuck!!
During your days as a student, you hated mathematics? Isn’t right? If yes, do you realize that by blogging you are indeed working out your math skills? Yup, I am just driving to the fact that Blogging is Mathematics. Marketing a blog means you are working out strategies to get more traffic by which you are trying to get more profit. Hence, I think now you have begun to love math knowingly or unknowingly.
You hated ART!!!
So, you were a philistine, one who disliked art. You were lazy to design out things. But being a blogger, you are now forced to redesign things to give out simple and neat looks to your site. And am sure you are doing this job wonderfully. (Have you seen the new look of BlogEngage? Ya guys, what you are just now seeing with your eyes is the new look
. It’s simply awesome. A special Kudos to Brian)
WRAP UP
At least for me the afore-mentioned points were true. I was a nerd. I didn’t want to believe everything can be mathematically formulated and solved. I believed it was pointless to waste your time to create art forms. Yes, through blogging I changed. A change to that extreme that, I am now almost opposite in behavior compared to me when I started blogging. In that sense, Blogging was Killing myself. The title of the post should have been “BLOGGING WAS KILLING MYSELF” instead of “BLOGGING IS KILLING YOURSELF”. But after all it was some trick to draw your valuable attention to this post. I hope you guys will forgive me for the same. To just let me know that you forgive me, please like this post on facebook
.

Great article Jake, I guess what you say is true lol blogging has made me become everything I hated in school. I didn’t like to read, now I read all the time, I didn’t like to work, now I never stop working. But for some reason I love blogging and if it means I have to do everything I once hated so be it! I think it’s worth it because I’ve meet so many amazing people and plan to continue doing it as I move forward with blog engage.

Hi Brian,
First of all I am happy that you liked the article and let me express my gratitude for publishing my post here at BlogEngage. It means a lot to me. I still haven’t taken blogging seriously. But still I had the experience to write this post as I had seen many aspects of blogging. Would you believe if I say, ‘I had done blog suicide’. Yes, I had deleted my blog (Blog-Jakes) some months ago. Last December, I tried for a resurrection. But now, am again down, as I am constantly experiencing hosting problems. But still in midst of all these, I am just happy to know that you people are there for backing me up

Hi Jakes, you can lose a blog anytime, but a blog is nothing without it’s owner, you made it a success. So the blog you start now or even in the future will all be to the same level of success and more before you are behind the project.

Hi Brian, Ya I hope to be back. It’s just that I don’t want to lose my domain blogJakes.com. It’s my identity at the blog-o-sphere. It’s what helped to attain whatever I attained here. May be I will take time. But, I assure you I will be back with my Blog-Jakes. And that time, I need all your support and am pretty sure you will

Blogging forces you to expand your horizons. Rather than say that it’s killing me, I like to think of it as giving me new life. I’m constantly learning new things and becoming a better person because of it.

Thanks again, and I will come back in a few months to let everyone know how my new career change is going.

After a little cool down period, I had a change of heart. My feelings for blogging are one of love and hate, but ultimately I choose to make it part of my life so that becomes my answer.
More specifically, I have identified one area in particular that was adding to the HATE, and maybe you can identify with me. I bring my lovely smart phone with me everywhere I go so I can stay in touch with what I am doing in my blogging ventures. I have grown to hate this intrusion into my life, so I have now removed the smartphone notifications and set aside specific times and I am finding that I rather look forward to the time I spend with my blogs and other peoples blogs.
What do you think?

Hi Nims,
Wow, I should say that you have a awfully good attitude. I am too a computer engineer by qualification and web designing is a hobby. These are yet to be my profession. Yup, I am still a student and I should say a lazy student. Hence, for me blogging was not a cakewalk. But, still it’s good to see persons with different views and it’s that which brings about healthy discussions

Hmm… unlike some of you, I LOVED reading (now, I sometimes skim read only, because there’s not enough time in the day to read deeply on everything that piques my Interest here in the Rabbit Hole of the Internet). I LOVED studying, but would happily have been a specialist in something – now, I have a lot of trivial knowledge about a lot of things (though I’m now quite knowledgeable about things like HTML, CSS, Internet Marketing, and Social Media – terms I never imagined would exist, back when I was in school). I still hate math. Yuk! But now, ironically, I work with statistics. I’m sitting here right now, tracking points in two contests on a spreadsheet. I LOVED art – just never thought I’d be creating any of my own. I’m still just about as geeky as I ever was – I still enjoy solitude. But you’d never know it by the number of social media sites I’m engaged in! I think you’ve really hit on something, here. But I think, instead of killing us or even actually CHANGING us, this online realm has allowed suppressed parts of ourselves to come out and play.

Hi Jahangiri,
First of all thanks for visiting my post. A top prestigious blogger leaving a comment is always a big thing for me. I admit that many of us are only active in the social media, and remains passive in the actual society. But, I still believe that, by blogging, one can turn into a better person. BTW, I hope ‘Jahangari’ is your real name, not any nick or something. If I addressed you incorrectly, plx let me know.

Blogging killed my gaming time, I used to be an avid gamer and spend my 2-3 hours per night gaming when my family was sleeping and I wasn’t working. Now 90% of my gaming time is consumed with blogging, so though I enjoy blogging it doesn’t provide that escapism fun that gaming does and sometimes feels like I am working two jobs.

Hi Justin,
Wow, you enjoy gaming. I never hoped that. I had thought that you would be a serious person. I really don’t know what made me think so. May be, it’s your poems. Anyways, I appreciate you for still finding time for gaming. Often, ‘money motive’ would make one blind and will sacrifice his/her hobbies to run after money. But you have such passion for blogging and I believe it’s that passion made you so successful in blogging
Justin Germino

For my day job as an Information Security Engineer and Technology Manager, I am as serious as can be. But Gaming was in my blood since playing pen and paper Dungeons and Dragons since I was 11 years old and played up until I was about 28. Then life gets too complicated to form gaming groups and online gaming supplemented. I played Playstation 2 games a lot for about 9 years, the Final Fantasy series was my favorite, but also liked Shadow of the Colossus and others.
PC Gaming I was always into RPG and Strategy games, Starcraft, Warcraft, Age of Empires, Guildwars, Runes of Magic and more recently Heroes of Might and Magic 6 and Star Wars: The Old Republic. I also finished the Diablo III Beta and did a video review.
The way to keep some gaming in my busy blogging life was of course to have gaming reviews on my blog as well, this gave me a reason to play games (I need to write a blog review about it). So I managed to help find balance, also by hiring writers to help me with my blog I was able to free up some more of my time to promote/network and do more advertising for my blog and gaming time, while not being crunched to have to write 90 posts per month.
For 2 years I wrote 60 articles + 30 poems per month, but I have cut back significantly, now I write about 45 articles and 20 poems per month. My writing staff covers about 20 articles per month between them (average writer does 2 articles per week for me). These aren’t no name generic paid for articles, these are my dragonbloggers (team members) and their name is tied to my site. Some have been with me a year now, and they have their own place on my “staff page”.
I was thrilled to be making money blogging, but lately I am even more thrilled that I can help pay others and actually give gadgets away. The fact that I help others make a little money to help with their own expenses (a little, I can’t pay much) and the fact that I can give away a Kindle Fire and make someones month is just a great feeling.
