Blog Engage $500 USD Guest Blogging Qualifying Article
A lot has been written about how to blog, what to blog and what not to do. But the little book of the basics just needed a little touch up. So without getting into too much of what you should be blogging about and just how you should be doing it, here is my ABC of what blogging and bloggers are all about!
A – Action
You can’t just buy a domain and see it grow magically across the online world. You have to act on it. Work on spreading the word and make yourself known. Action is the first step. Shake off the laziness and get to work.
B – Believe
Most bloggers get lost in the race because they feel they should be blogging about what everyone is telling them to do. Believe that you are just as good and will make it happen. Choose what you are good at and go ahead and make it happen.
C- Conversation
There is nothing like comments. Change the comment to conversation. Talk, debate, discuss and see how you quickly take the “comments” one notch up and make conversations the new mantra.
D – Diligence
No blog was build in a day. No blog enjoys overnight success. Every blogger needs to work hard at what they are aiming to build. Persistent work will get you to build your image and also your credibility in the blogging world. It does take time.
E – Enjoyable / Entertaining
Just because you run a “serious” blog about making money, technology, business or whatever; doesn’t mean you can’t be a little fun. Put the fun quotient back into your blog and see how people will love coming back again and again.
F – Flexible
Show the audience that you are human and have a flexible mind. Reach out to a wider discussion, give them variety. For example, if you are running a blog about blogging and social media, show them the flexibility by reaching into a wider range of topics like content creation, marketing, twitter tools, networking strategies, recommendations. If you keep telling them “how to blog”, “how to get comments”, “how to do this”, “how to do that”; they are bound to run away. Stretch your limits!

G – Grateful
Throughout your blogging journey you will meet loads of people. They might link to your posts, be a regular reader, tweet your posts, share it all around. Be grateful to them. Once you thank them and should that you care, they are bound to stick around longer.
H – Human
Sounds odd; but the readers should know the posts aren’t coming out of a robot. Share your experiences, tell them how you learnt from your mistakes and improved from then on. Show them you are human!
I – Informative
If you are running a business or having a tutorial, then get your facts right. The audience isn’t easy to fool so better not try doing it. If you recommending a product, writing a review, then you have got to give it as it is. Nothing beats good and correct information.
J – Jocular
You don’t have to be serious all the time. I know I’ve said this before. But learn to let go. Be easy, have fun. This is the only way to maintain your sanity and also make sure you last longer in the big, big blogging world!
K – Knowing
Open your mind to what is happening around. Your analytics might say something, other bloggers might say something and the mind of yours might say something else. Know what you are going to listen to and follow it. Know what you want and work on it!
L – Learn, learn and learn more!
One thing permanent everywhere is the constant process of learning. Not just the technical stuff but many things else – content, marketing, networking and so on. Make sure you are open to learning about experiences and ideas. It might give you content ideas too!
M – Move on
You might make mistakes; there might be disagreements and there might be terrible errors. It is a part and parcel of the blogging journey, learn to let go and move on. Life and blogging will be much more easier!
N – Networking
You need friends in the online world too. Reach out to other bloggers, comment till your fingers run out of steam, make sure you read one new blog every week; just make sure you get your name out there and network with an awesome community. There are the ones who will help you promote your blog and your work.
O – Observe
There are truckloads of information around us. Observe and learn. Observe things around you and see how you can apply that to bettering online success.
P – Persistence
Going back to constant work. Sometimes your posts might not get a hundred comments or a zillion tweets. That is okay. Just be persistent, keep the bigger goal in mind. Once you are good with your content and marketing, success will follow. Be sure to never lose hope and just be persistent!
Q – Quality
Never ever compromise quality. Quality doesn’t mean that your posts have to be a Pullitzer prize winning material. Quality means that a post is a good balance between well written content and a good, healthy discussion. It doesn’t matter if you are writing about barbie dolls or blogging platforms – as long as it makes sense!
R – Risks
Take them.Blog about what you really want to. Try different techniques, maybe newer ways. Don’t just follow, take the lead and set an example. It is okay to take a little risk anywhere; see how it works for you!
S – Switch off!
Yes,you can’t be online the whole day. You need a break, you need to refresh. Switch off and seek inspiration from the outside world. The offline world might just give you ideas for your blog posts.
T – Talkative
Yes, many of us are really not talkative. But being “talkative” in blogging always helps. Not only does it up your comment count but it helps you in reaching out to bloggers and in networking. Talk to them and see how it works wonders for your blog!
U – Unique
You are you because everyone else is taken! Be yourself and believe in what you are doing. Not only does it make you different and gives you the edge, but it makes you unique. Don’t aspire to be the next “so and so”. Be you and people will appreciate you for it!
V – Versatile
On the lines of being flexible. Learn to write on a range of topics, bring is versatility to your posts and to your updates. Share opinions and ideas and come up with various blog ideas and ways to expand your reach.
W – Work
Sorry to say this, but blogging requires some serious work. From managing your domain and hosting settings to posting frequencies, content creation, networking with other bloggers, marketing your posts, building an audience, blog designs and many other aspects; blogging will require work. Be ready for it!
X – eXcel!
Ok, a little cheating is allowed because it is the word X! I know it is tough to excel at everything, but there is nothing that stops you from trying. Go out, give it a tray and strive for the best at what you write and blog about; will always work!
Y – Yummy
Besides your food, you need to work on making your blog yummy. This again involves keeping things interesting, fresh and enjoyable so that the readers can’t forget the “taste” and keep coming back for more!
Z – Zeal
Keep the spirit of blogging alive. Once you know you have got all the other elements in place, work on making sure that the energy and enthusiasm never dies out. I know people who have been blogging for over ten years! How? Because they still have the zeal in them to write, to blog and still keep the conversation going!
So, bring on your favorite alphabets to the blogging story of yours! How have you kept your blogging journey alive through the ABC’s? What works for you and what doesn’t?
