After much review I have noticed some of our submitted and syndicated articles here on Blog Engage are duplicate content. Effective immediately I am placing a new rule for all user submitted and syndicated content. If the content on your blog is not unique and is copied from another blog in any way, shape or form, your subscription will be cancelled/terminated without notice and your account will be removed.
Take note, when I say duplicate content I mean actual copy and pasted content from other sites on yours, not simply submitting your own blog articles. Please do not confuse the two. Submitting your blog articles to Blog Engage is not duplicate content and is not harmful for your blogs SEO. Simply submit the title and your first or second paragraph you will be fine. Do not confuse yourself with the users and customers I am talking about. If you are breaking our rule, trust me you will know and it would not be a matter question.
I’m very sad to see many of our customers have been syndicating very poor quality content into Blog Engage and it stops today. I have already removed 5 syndicating customers and more are to be removed soon. If you write unique content on your blog you have nothing to worry about.
Also if I notice you are syndicating or submitting articles that are clearly created for backlink generation purposes and have no readable value, your account and articles will also be removed. Blog Engage is NOT meant to be used as a link farm we are a blog community with real blog members.
Duplicate content on the Blog Engage site is not prohibited as it reduces the quality of our community and reduces the quality of backlinks to our blogging members and customers. I have to ensure that our real blogging members are getting the highest SEO value and we are not helping others submitting duplicate content. Over the next week I will be tightly monitoring the syndicated and submitted content removing ALL customer or members articles that show even the smallest sign of duplicate content.
Why the new rule?
This rule is being implemented to ensure the members who are writing unique content get the most benefit out of our blogging community. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to leave a comment below. Please remember I am doing this for the benefit of our entire community. If your comment is rude, it will be removed and added to our spam list. I will not tolerate immature responses from removed members and or customers.
I appreciate your understanding, if your articles have been removed you will receive a notice, and instructions on how to cancel your subscription for our services. No refund will be granted as you are responsible for the quality of your content not me.
Thanks,
Brian Belfitt

Hi Brian,
Unfortunately, I have seen this with duplicate and copied article for quite some time on several major blogs. It is good that you take hold of the problem and throw out these people.

I think it’s such a waste of time for people to use copied content or even pre written content as you can find it on several sites and not just your own. Over the next few weeks I am devoting my time to making sure none of our users content is duplicate or copied.

Hi Brian,
I hope you take away all that spinning articles as well, it’s basically copy article with different words here and there. Can you make a list of people you can find and put it up later?

Oh no I don’t need to do that, I think at this point I just want to stop the articles from coming into the community.

Hi Brian, I’m glad you removed those accounts. That sends a clear message to everyone and you should link to this post somewhere on the sales page or in the email that goes out to new members. Thanks!!

Hi Ileane, thanks so much for the support. You know sadly it seems we are slowly removing all of our Empowerment Network Members. The strangest thing (besides a few of them) they all seem to copy one another, same old crappy message back and forth. When you can copy a part of one article, Google it and find it on 10 other sites they are out of here. Just so you know we must think alike, I’ve already added a message on our sales page. “”Also please note we do not tolerate the submission or syndication of stolen or duplicate content. If we find this is happening we will remove your articles and account without notice.”" Hopefully this will make people think twice before wasting their money. But in all honestly now that I’ve noticed this becoming a huge issue I will be manually going over all our new customer blogs prior to setting up any new accounts.

Good Grief! What is the point of duplicating their own content, I know it can be hard sometimes to produce content on another blog, but duplicating it somewhere else, surely they knew they would be found out eventually. Glad you’ve sorted the time wasters out Brian

Actually Karen, it’s not so much they are duplicating their own but stealing others content and or having access to some database with the same crap in it. I safely assume they are told to rewrite it but are very poor at doing so and or partly lazy. It’s like the entire Empowerment Network has a database of prewritten crap content and they all use it on their blogs not thinking or even knowing it’s duplicate.

That’s even worse! There does seem to be a lot of websites popping up lately that have content that you can take and use on your own blog, but the trouble with these is so many people abuse the system.

I remove their content without notice but I will not delete their accounts. I will always give a warning before removing a Blog Engage account. I’ve never deleted any members account without giving ample warnings.

Agreed, if they can’t post unique content, they shouldn’t be allowed to post here. Thank you for taking action against them and keeping BlogEngage free of spam/copied content!

Hi Rich, I never knew these users were doing this, in fact if I did they would had never been allowed to be part of our community. But now that I’m aware I’m going to be spending tons of time monitoring the syndicated and submitted content to ensure it’s unique.

Honestly, it won’t help to have duplicate content in SEO and reader perspectives. Thanks Brian for taking action about this issue, not only here in Blog Engage but also for the blogosphere, itself.

Hi Jerome thanks for the comment and support. It’s rather sad I’ve been so busy with new clients I haven’t even noticed this was happening until Ms. Ileane mention one specific site that was simply submitting links that had tons of other links on them and no real content. Then I thought I better do some serious quality control checking to ensure this isn’t happening a lot more. But no worries give me another week and we will be back to normal and running smooth with all fresh and unique content.

Finding unique and fresh content on the internet is now difficult as most you can search are rehashed content. They just make use of article re-writer software to generate a some kind of unique output and then submit it to a number of article submission sites.
