That’s right you heard me correct. I have decided to get out of the website business and sell blogengage.com If you’re interested to see the selling price and place a bid feel free to do so. If I don’t get what I’m looking for I will simply keep it and continue it’s growth.

I bet you’re asking why I want to sell aren’t you? Well August 6th 2010 I’m getting married. I start my life as a husband and soon after (I hope) a father. I want to afford a nice marriage and I want a down payment on my home. This is the reason I have decided to try and sell blogengage.

I have spent a lot of time building and developing blogengage so I hope you all continue using the service and stick together as bloggers should. To be honest I don’t even know if I will reach what I’m asking for regaridng the selling price.  But I love the website so much I may have asked for a price that is unrealistic and to high.

let me know your thoughts.

I’m sad to hear it, Brian. You’ve been a good administrator of the site. But I’m happy for your new adventure as a family man. I’m big on family and wish you the best! (August 9 will be our 25th anniversary. May your marriage be as wonderful!)

Congratulations Brian. I’m sure you’ll make an excellent hubby and daddy. Best wishes to you and I hope you get what you are asking for. Blog Engage is well worth the price even if it is too high.
    Cheers!!

I appreciate all the best wishes and support but who knows if it will sell. I’m asking for a high amount and apparently I might not get it. Worse case scenario is I keep the site and continue it’s growth.

Congratulations on getting married! I hope you have a long and wonderful life together.
On the other hand, while I certainly understand wanting a change of focus, I hope you don’t sell BlogEngage, it just wouldn’t be the same without you!

This news of course, comes with mixed feelings. Personally, and I can only speak for myself, I would hate to see you go because you ARE BlogEngage and have worked so hard to make it what it has become today. You are a part of the fabric of this wonderful site.

On the other hand, your upcoming marriage and family life must be greatly anticipated and I wish you nothing but the very best. It is always nice to have options in life, and I sincerely hope that any sale more than meets your expectations.

As you are aware, you will always have my support as a good friend and fellow blogger.

Wishing you all the best, bro. :-)

I can see where you’re coming from. Managing community sites can take a lot of resources out of you, especially at this stage of their growth as BE is in. I only have one large community site to manage and it’s a huge responsibility. Best of luck with the sale!

    Brian,

Congrats on the wedding. I am sorry to see you go. If I could afford to purchase BE I would. See what it has to offer. Good luck with the sale.

As the others have said, grats on getting married and best of luck selling. It is indeed set at a high price, but maybe you’ll be able to get someone to offer you a bit less and still come out way on top. I would suggest putting together some more proof of numbers for people if you’re serious. Show your previous income. Show current stats on the site and proof of continuous increases. Show examples of where else the site has authority (like, if you’ve created a decent brand for yourself on Twitter, Facebook, other social networking sites, etc). Show where you haven’t monetized it fully and there’s plenty of room for growth. You may not get the full price still yet, but I bet you can get close if you really put some effort into showing how much it’s worth (beyond just your personal investment).

It will definitely be sad to see you go brian. I am still quite new to Blog Engage but you have created a great community.

Why did you decide to go with DigitalPoint for the sale? I would have thought you would have got a bigger audience at Flippa.com.

Congratulations Brian, and good luck on saving up for your home and your wedding. It’s a shame you have to sell blogengage (are you sure there are no other options?) but hopefully you’ll visit it from time to time to make sure it’s being loved!
