Blog Engage is back up and running live

It’s been a long weekend of data recovery and data recovery failure. Thankfully I made a full system back up the night before our server crashed.

The hard drive was fried and no information could be taken off it.

However I did miss three of my personal websites but I was so tired I said I’ll get it in the morning and my server crashed before I could get there.

The crash was not expected what so ever. It’s safe to say all the most popular and active websites have been saved and will see restored over the next 24 – 48 hours.

Because I didn’t get any data from the hard drive I requested a refund from Godaddy seeing I paid 150 USD for then to add the old drive on a USB Enclosure.

I’m happy to announce Blog Engage is back up and hopefully for good!

    Hi Brian, congrats on making the back up. It’s great to see BE back again. I have a question what does it mean when you say “add the old drive on a USB Enclosure”. Did GoDaddy fail to provide a service that you paid for? I’d like to hear more about this when you get time.

    And like Karen, I’m wondering when Blogging Wire will be back too.

    It’s been a long wait! I don’t envy you for having to go through that (been there, done that…yuck). So good to see BE back online again! Is your twitter account ok though? I tweeted you yesterday to see what was happening.

    I’ve been following your sites (bloggingwire and seomkt as well). That was a sad downtime.

    I can understand the pain of recovering all the data. Yeah it s*cks but well, you did brought it back to us. Good job and welcome back.

    Hi Brian,

    I suggesting you to change the server. Please find some good VPS hosting providers or Managed dedicated server providers. Don’t waste your time on GoDaddy. Every time when I trying to load Blogengage, its dead slow…

    My suggestions is to choose the best managed hosting providers like HostGator and Knownhost.
