Normally I don’t blog on weekends but we’ve had such an amazing week for overall traffic I wanted to share that news with you all.
This has been one of blog engage’s best weeks since the beginning of the year. We ended 2009 very strong and I assume the same will happen this year in 2010.
I was also hoping to discuss how you all take advantage of your blog planning and if you do anything on the weekends for the upcoming week. How better to do that with a good old Saturday posting.
I’ll be straight, I don’t do anything on the weekends. I do most of my blogging in the morning and or in the evening for the next day.
I like to enjoy my weekends and normally I’m pretty busy getting ready for another work week. So I tend to check my e-mails, visit blog engage to engage and then see what’s up on face book and twitter. Besides that I don’t really do anything else productive.
What’s your take? Do you enjoy blogging on the weekends? Are you preparing for the upcoming week or do you just relax and enjoy the time off?

Hey Brian, I usually don’t do any blogging on the weekend. I find that my traffic usually takes a big hit on the weekends regardless of whether or not I publish an article. One of my blogs does accept guest posts and I’ve been lucky enough to get enough articles submitted for the short term to publish a few on the weekends.

I think traffic drops for all of us on the weekends. Search Engine and direct traffic is affected that’s for sure.

I at least try to write a draft of something on the weekends during my morning coffee or if I have a free moment. As ideas pop into my head I’ll try and jot them down. The main problem for me is that my work week is very busy with work that I tend to not have a lot of time to write posts if I don’t plan ahead on the weekends.
Working six days a week on top of maintaining a blog sure is a lot of work and that is one of the main reasons my blog is not as consistent as I’d like it to be.
Of course I tend to not post too much on the weekends because traffic does seem to be lower than during the week, unless there’s something I really want to get out there or I have a surplus of ideas, I’ll tend to write posts and save them for the week.

John working 6 days a week is a huge obstacle to overcome as a blogger. I don’t even know how you find time to write working that much of the time.

I have no set pattern. On my “work” blogs, I write during work days, when the kids are at school. My other blogs, it comes and goes, really.

I tried that once… I had no plans one saturday and just decided I write something on my blog but I ended up just staring at my screen thinking what the hell am I doing, I should be out having fun
I think it comes with the mindset that I mostly spend my weekends out and give myself the break I deserve before I get ready to work again.
