Let’s face it, there’s no sense in creating a blog that only you are going to read. You need traffic, which in turn will turn into commentators, subscribers, which in turn will make your blog more successful.

1. Blogging communities
Blogging communities like blokube and blogengage are great way to promote your blog and build backlinks. Many bloggers don’t use this strategy but this is one of most awesome way to get traffic and promote your blog.

4. Forum Posting
Write good Articles and post your blog link as a source. It will catch the eyes of people. This strategy can really help your traffic explode because if someone from a related forum visits your blog and likes what they see, they will send people visiting their forum to your blog, thus increasing your traffic exponentially. I’m usually active on Digital Point.
5. Social Media Sites
One of the best ways to succeed on Social media is to get really involved. It is a great source of communication and the start of new friendships. It was built for genuine people who want to talk as humans and make connections. Sending people messages directly are another great way to get in touch with them on a personal level. It’s simply an incredible viral means to drive a large amount of sustainable traffic to any website over a period of time. Using it is crucial to your social marketing success. I try to submit every article to social media websites like Twitter, StumbleUpon, Digg, Reddit, Delicious.
6. SEO
Anyone who works for, or in, an online business knows how incredibly valuable SERPS positions are. Actually it is all about building nice and quality backlinks to your blog or website. In search engine optimization (SEO), page rank is at least partially determined by the number of sites that link to yours.
So, here are few ways to build high quality backlinks

7. List Building
List building is something that no blogger should miss. I see many bloggers don’t focus on building mailing list. Actually it is a great way to get traffic and make some money. Still thinking why should i start building mailing list then here are few reasons for you
- Connect – Emails give you an opportunity to make your fans feel more closely connected with you.
- Referrals – Put you in a position to receive regular referrals.
- Easier – Make your sales process easier and more productive.
- Start conversations with people you are targeting.
- Another awesome reason is “The money is in the list”
Next step is to start making some money from your blog. Making money is not hard thing but it takes hard work and patience.
Here are 4 awesome ways to make money:
- Banner Ads – If you have a good traffic (10000+ visits per month) then you can sell banner ads on your blog. Buysellsads is one of the great site to sell banner ads

Solid tips. On the forum one though, you have to proceed with caution. Some forums are super strict on self-promotional items (aka, don’t place a link if it has any relation to you or an affiliate program). In those cases, you have to find a friend to share it on the forum for you. Then you can hop on board any resulting discussions.

I personally love the guest posting deal. I was not big on that at all, until I started doing it and realized how powerful it can be. For starter, you are contributing to a blog you like and read, you get some traffic and maybe a few new readers, and from SEO perspective, you are getting IN CONTENT links whcih are much better and more powerful than sidebar, footer and those kinds of links.

Great tips! I have to say that blog commenting has been one of the BEST ways to promote my blog so far. I’m also having great luck with the simple SEO things I’m learning. I thought SEO would be so difficult and overwhelming, but getting results is really a whole lot more simple than made it out to be.

I use all of the strategies mentioned but have had the best success with forum posting, but as with any type of posting, being it forum or blog comments, it has to be informative. If someone can learn something from what you say they will be more inclined to find out more about you and your business.
