I decided to take Brian up on his offer to write a guest post for Blog Engage. When thinking of what to write I figured that writing a post that helped people get the most from their Blog Engage interactions.

1. Submit Your Posts

This may sound silly because you have signed up to BE and that is what you are supposed to do right!

You’ll be surprised how many sites I visit where the BE ‘vote’ button is installed and showing ’0′ votes. Submit your content on a regular basis to keep your blog ‘engaged‘.

If you write a great post then be sure to submit it to Blog Engage for everybody to read. Not sure how your post will be received? Submit it anyway, at least that way you’ll can get instant feedback that you can measure by way of:

  • the number of votes you receive
  • the number of visitors that come to your site directly from your submitted article
  • the number of comments you receive on your blog and here at Blog Engage
  • the number of people who go on to share your content across social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, etc.

Not many places will give you so many ways to measure the success of your writing.

2. Reciprocity

Take some time to visit your fellow bloggers’ sites and read their content. If you like what you read then give them a vote. If you have something of value to add to the conversation then leave a comment.

Don’t have anything to say but loved the article, share it using Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites. By doing this you will be supporting your fellow blogger and encouraging them to crank out even more great content.

NOTE: Blog owners and content publishers ‘do’ notice when their most active readers. Many, especially in the BE community, like to repay the favour in kind.

3. Stay Active

I’m guilty of going through periods of not being the most active member (work and life can get really busy) but here is a good tip that will allow you to stay connected even when you are not regularly updating your blog.

Share someone else’s great article with the BE community. Like I mentioned above, you will find BE members who do not submit all of their posts. If you find a post that you feel is worthy of sharing, share it for the BE community to enjoy.

4. Adsense Earnings

This goes without saying, whether you are submitting great content that you have created yourself or you are sharing other people’s articles, make sure you have set-up your Adsense Publiser ID in your BE account area.

By doing this, you will increase your chances of making some income from your shared articles.

5. Research Blog Engage

Take some time to look at all the posts that have been written about Blog Engage. There are lots of members of BE who have shared their ‘top tips’ for using Blog Engage. Be sure to implement the tips that you feel will benefit you and your readers the most.

6. Get Private Feedback

Sometimes blogging can seem a lonely existence. You may have a technical issue with your site, you may want some feedback on your blog writing, or maybe even a have a personal issue.

If this is the case reach out to your fellow BE members. I know I have answered peoples personal questions that have landed in my inbox and some great people of the BE community have answered mine.

This is the great thing about the members here, they really do take the time to ‘interact’ and ‘communicate’ with each other. That being said, I have found some of the warmest people on the net from my time on BE.

7. Ask The Community to get Involved

I wrote a post that asked the BE community if we could make Blog Engage History.

This call to action for my post, Google PageRank Score Too Low, resulted in 92 votes (come on guys and gals who haven’t voted, we are 8 away from the 100 votes milestone).

Write a post that asks for community feedback. Write a post that asks the BE community to take action. Let’s see where it takes you!

Now over to you. If you have a Blog Engage user tip I would love to hear it so please take a minute to share it below in the comments.

Regards,

Karl Foxley

BONUS TIP: Write a guest post for the Blog Engage blog. Writing a guest post is a great way to introduce yourself to the Blog Engage community and raise the awareness of your blog. Don’t forget, Brian sends out a news letter to all members so your post will be seen by the entire community.

Great article Karl. I use and implement all the tips you mentioned on a daily basis to market and promote blog engage but in other communities so I know your suggestions and tips will work when done correctly.

I’ve been managing blog engage for two years now and since we first launched the website I’ve always had the attitude you demonstrated inside this guest article. Anyone at blog engage can make a difference they just have to be motivated or want to change.

Blogging is tiresome at times and can become a very hard and demanding task. Blog Engage can help bloggers through these hard time by providing an environment for marketing and promoting that will eventually bring new readers and comments.

I’m happy to see your guest posting on our blog and hope to see some more from you in the future Karl. Thanks so much for the kind words about Blog Engage it’s truly appreciated.

Thank you for the opportunity Brian.

I’ve liked the idea of BE ever since I joined (about a year ago now) but more than anything, I treasure the connections I have made with the generous bloggers that are a part of the community.

I’m sure you’ll see some more posts here in the future Brian.

    Great post Karl,

I try and follow all those tips on BE and the rest of the communities I am a part of. I tend go through times when I am to busy to write or visit BE. When that happens my traffic drops. It takes some time and it comes back…

I have heard many good things about BE, but haven’t really checked it out. I know there is a an invitation process to join to reduce spammers, so I have started the process. I’ll see how it goes once I join. I’ll keep this post in mind when I do join the BE community.
