Most of us have social icons on the sidebar of our blogs to make it easy for visitors to follow us on Twitter, Facebook and StumbleUpon or subscribe to our RSS feed. WordPress plugins like “Cute Profiles” allow a line-up of social icons that float along the edge of the page like our own personal marching band.
I started a Blog Engage Twitter list last year so it’s a natural reaction for me to head straight for someone’s Twitter link and add them to the Blog Engage list on Twitter. But somehow that’s still not enough!
When I look around Blog Engage I see what I call “repeats”.
Come on, don’t be offended, you know I mean that in a good way. What I’m trying to say is, whenever I explore a new network or forum I’m amazed to see some very familiar gravatars belonging to Blog Engage members that I already have great blogging relationships with (you’d think I’d be used to it by now)!
We’re all working towards the same goal and often we find ourselves scrambling to get more traffic and looking for creative ways to boost our stats. I don’t know about you but for me, the lion’s share of my traffic comes from networks like Blog Engage or MMOSocialNetwork. Yet there’s always room for growth. I want to follow up on the some of advice Karl Foxley gave in his guest post 7 Tips to Get the Most From Blog Engage and expand on what Brian said in Use Blog Engage to Socially Share with Bloggers. Let’s take it a step further by following and voting for each other in some other social networks that can’t be found on the “Cute Profiles” or “Sexy Bookmarks” plugin settings. Let’s take that good old fashioned Blog Engage spirit and spread it around to the other blogging networks we belong to. Here are 5 networks that I’d like us all to try and connect on:
BloggerLuv – one of my personal favorites and you get the details in DragonBlogger’s post BloggerLuv: Community for Bloggers, he always says it best.
Amplify – first introduced to me by DiTesco and I know you’ll really want to read How to Build Links Share Content and More Using Amplify.
Bloggers – back in April Brian wrote and asked us to Follow Him on bloggers dot com and it was nice when I was a featured blogger on the home page after only a few weeks
Hub Pages – Kidgas turned me on to making money with Hub Pages (well I haven’t actually made any yet but he has) Another Day, Another Dollar
YouSayToo – I can’t find a post about this one here at Blog Engage – so hurry up and write one for us please
We should broaden our networks, help build each others confidence, and reach beyond the limits of our “Cute Profiles”. One thing I love about finding Blog Engage Members on other networks is that I can quickly go down the line and vote up all of the articles that I’ve previously found and possibly commented on here. It’s a good feeling and that reminds me of the noise you hear when someone hits the jackpot in the casino. Ding, ding, ding, ding…:)
Let’s extend the reach of our social networks and strengthen the blogging ties that bind us together. I’m sure we have some other networks in common. Maybe you have one you think I should try. Let me know.

Hey James. I get some traffic from Amplify but I think I can get more. I installed the bookmarklet and I like that because it allows me to clip any part of the blog post I want to display on Amplify. I try to clip the “meaty” part of the post. I’m also sharing other great posts that I run across. I think we are following each other already, but I’ll double check. Thanks for your question.

You know I’ve been so busy managing blog engage and writing on the community blog I haven’t heard of even half of these websites. Perhaps it’s time I start leaving the house a little m ore often lol.
I’m a big fan of Bloggerluv I’ve been a friend of John’s now for many months. I have read potpolitics and think he’s a great guy. That website has a lot of growth potential.
MMO is also another great network. Hesham is doing a great job with that network as well.

Hey Brian, thanks for your support. It’s funny because I had to go to the Bloggers dot com site in order to find the link to your post about it. It’s great that you have this blog’s feed there or I would have been lost searching for it here.
I like it over there.
John and BloggerLuv have been real good to me and I get tons of traffic from the site.

I didn’t know some of them, YouSayToo first time for me. I’ve been using Amplify lately to expand my networks and is doing its job, not much traffic till now but I’m meeting new people out of my “normal” circle.
Cheers,
Gera

Even though I don’t use much of YouSayToo, but they played a major role behind the existence of my blog Tech N Blogging. I was a winner in one of their contests and received $100 from them which I used to pay for the hosting and others. Otherwise I had no fund to start this new blog.
I couldn’t figure out how to use Amplify properly. so I will have to check out the post you have mentioned. And I really need to spend more time on BloggerLuv and Bloggers.

Sourav, I didn’t know they have contests over at YouSayToo. That’s great that you won. You should do a post about it. Please let me know if you too. I’ll look for you there. I think I’m following you on Amplify already. Let me know if you still have questions after reading DiTesco’s post. Thanks!

Its happened to be a small break away from what I was doing in ICT Trends. There are some self revelation encountered when I sit away from blogging world. Then I though I can’t. So coming back soon with seoMMOtips again and believe I’m lucky with friends like you all!
I’m happy to see Ileane working hard and always showing new venues as always. I don’t know how much benefit you’ve reaped, but the suggestions and the new door you always open are worth exploring. Good job.

Thanks for the overview Ileane, I am on all of those networks. I also did do a review of YouSayToo and it should be on BlogEngage, it had 7 votes, so wasn’t “published” yet: http://www.blogengage.com/story.php?title=looking-for-a-blog-network-with-revenue-sharing-check-out-yousaytoo

Hey Ileane,
Thank you for mentioning my BE guest post, much appreciated!
I’m all over the net and, like you, when I find a fellow BE member I make sure I add them on those networks and promote their content (be that through votes, comments, stumbles, tweets etc).
