One of the most difficult aspects of blogging is getting more blog comments.

I’ve been blogging for about 2 years now and still to this day the hardest part of blogging for me is getting comments from members on a regular basis.

I have implemented many ideas to encourage blog commenting but it seems none of the idea generate a consistent amount of comments.

Blog Commenting: I think this is one of my most beneficial ways of getting new comments. Many bloggers follow the link I leave and return the commenting favor. How has this worked for you?

Top Commentators Widget: I installed this hoping it would encourage my friends and members to comment but it hasn’t been working so great. Perhaps it’s over rated now and it means less but at one time I heard this was a great way to encourage blog commenting.

Comment Luv: This was another widget I installed to help encourage my readers to posts comments but I’m not sure it’s really working. Sure people use it when they leave comments but the questions is, is it encouraging new comments from new readers?

Twitter Profile: I’m not sure the real name of this widget but it allows anyone commenting to leave a live link to their profile page on twitter. This is a great way to get new followers etc but again I’m not sure if it’s in fact helping me gain new comments from my blogging friends.

Do Follow Comments: When I first started I was a No follow Blog. This wasn’t intentional I just didn’t know there was a difference. So eventually I figured this out and turned my blog into a Do Follow comments blog. I’m pretty sure this has helped but it hasn’t provided a consistent commenting activity from my readers.

Discussions:

1. How do you encourage blog commenting?
2. What modules are you using for blog comments?
3. Do you find using widget increases your comments?
4. Do you find blog commenting helps you build more comments?

Kontera is proud to announce the launch of Kontera Synapse – their new In-Text relevance engine, which brings the next generation of ad relevancy and audience engagement to their advertisers, publishers, and end users.

Kontera Synapse makes the most relevant associations for end-users, by identifying their topics of interest and predicting intent.

For advertisers, Kontera Synapse massively aggregates and engages the most qualified audience from across the web. The technology has been shown by comScore, the leading internet marketing research firm, to deliver five times greater advertiser performance than traditional display advertising.

The comprehensive 3 month comScore study also revealed that consumers view Kontera In-Text ads as one of the cleaner, least intrusive and more relevant ad formats.

Kontera has long had a reputation for product innovation and the last quarter was no exception. Here are a few examples of the premium ad campaigns that have launched exclusively on the Kontera Network. Don’t forget to check out the video demos!

Kontera & Ford Launch the First Multi-Video In-Text Campaign – featuring a video carousel, a teaser video, multiple calls to action and more.

Alan Wake Video Game for Xbox 360 – This ad for the scariest video game ever, features a fully-packed image gallery, and a full size, full length, video trailer.

Cell-Wars on the Kontera Network – Why highlight one ad campaign when you can highlight three cool rich-media campaigns.

Win a $75 Amazon Gift Card & Other Great Prizes – Enter the Kontera Publishers Show & Tell-Showoff-Showdown on our Facebook Page!

Kontera ContestKontera Affiliates Get $25 Bonus – Our Affiliates Summer Promotion extended until September 30th!

Why should you use Kontera?

Kontera offers an amazing report system that allows you to track your earnings daily. You can see what your eCPM is, how many clicks your in line text ads are getting and so much more.

Another great feature Kontera has is the ability to track your referral earnings. For a full year you get to earn 10 percent of what your referrals are bringing in. This is also showed in a nice and neat fashion allowing you to easily track your referral earnings daily.

Out of all the functionality that Kontera has to offer I think the keyword tracker will be most beneficial. Kontera allows you to easily track the keywords your visitors are clicking. This will help you earn more in the end because you can ensure your articles have these highly clicked keywords in the content.

The Best Payout in the Business

With kontera you get a 70% Revenue Share, $50 Signing Bonus for qualified sites, and you get paid starting at $50!

The Best Ad Inventory: Premium ads with market-leading CPC

kontera doesn’t only give you great payout terms, but ensures you get the best ads with the highest CPC.

kontera has an exclusive Ad Inventory by big-brand advertisers that you won’t see anywhere else, amongst them Blackberry, Samsung, Dove, L’Oreal, Volvo, Kellogg’s, and more. Those unique ads deliver record-high CTRs and CPC. With each click earning you more- Kontera is the best way to go.

The Best Relevancy and User Experience

kontera’s patented semantic technology delivers unmatched user-experience & results. Kontera’s algorithm understand your content in real time and serve your users with the most relevant and highest paying ads.

Works within your text – no extra space required

Got Quality content? This is all you need! No changes to your website or allocating additional page real-estate for displaying ads.

kontera’s technology selects relevant keywords from within the text of your blog. When a user scrolls over the keyword an ad layer is displayed. Kontera In-Text ads can also serve as an additional revenue stream from your website, and can run next to Adsense or other banner ad networks you may have on your blog without competing for user interaction.

Takes only a minute to set up

Easy-to-install plugins for popular blogging platforms such as Blogger, WordPress, Joomla & Drupal make implementation a breeze.

Kontera shows you the actual percentage of clicks for each and every keyword on your blog or website. So don’t waste your time with other in line text providers. Sign up with Kontera using my referral links and start earning money today.

Most of us have social icons on the sidebar of our blogs to make it easy for visitors to follow us on Twitter, Facebook and StumbleUpon or subscribe to our RSS feed. WordPress plugins like “Cute Profiles” allow a line-up of social icons that float along the edge of the page like our own personal marching band.

I started a Blog Engage Twitter list last year so it’s a natural reaction for me to head straight for someone’s Twitter link and add them to the Blog Engage list on Twitter. But somehow that’s still not enough!

When I look around Blog Engage I see what I call “repeats”.

Come on, don’t be offended, you know I mean that in a good way. What I’m trying to say is, whenever I explore a new network or forum I’m amazed to see some very familiar gravatars belonging to Blog Engage members that I already have great blogging relationships with (you’d think I’d be used to it by now)!

We’re all working towards the same goal and often we find ourselves scrambling to get more traffic and looking for creative ways to boost our stats. I don’t know about you but for me, the lion’s share of my traffic comes from networks like Blog Engage or MMOSocialNetwork. Yet there’s always room for growth. I want to follow up on the some of advice Karl Foxley gave in his guest post 7 Tips to Get the Most From Blog Engage and expand on what Brian said in Use Blog Engage to Socially Share with Bloggers. Let’s take it a step further by following and voting for each other in some other social networks that can’t be found on the “Cute Profiles” or “Sexy Bookmarks” plugin settings. Let’s take that good old fashioned Blog Engage spirit and spread it around to the other blogging networks we belong to. Here are 5 networks that I’d like us all to try and connect on:

BloggerLuv – one of my personal favorites and you get the details in DragonBlogger’s post BloggerLuv: Community for Bloggers, he always says it best.

Amplify – first introduced to me by DiTesco and I know you’ll really want to read How to Build Links Share Content and More Using Amplify.

Bloggers – back in April Brian wrote and asked us to Follow Him on bloggers dot com and it was nice when I was a featured blogger on the home page after only a few weeks

Hub Pages – Kidgas turned me on to making money with Hub Pages (well I haven’t actually made any yet but he has) Another Day, Another Dollar

YouSayToo – I can’t find a post about this one here at Blog Engage – so hurry up and write one for us please :)

We should broaden our networks, help build each others confidence, and reach beyond the limits of our “Cute Profiles”. One thing I love about finding Blog Engage Members on other networks is that I can quickly go down the line and vote up all of the articles that I’ve previously found and possibly commented on here. It’s a good feeling and that reminds me of the noise you hear when someone hits the jackpot in the casino. Ding, ding, ding, ding…:)

Let’s extend the reach of our social networks and strengthen the blogging ties that bind us together. I’m sure we have some other networks in common. Maybe you have one you think I should try. Let me know.

Did you write something on your blog today?

For your sakes I sure hope so. How do you expect to keep your readers visiting if you have nothing new for them to read?

Maintaining a consistent flow of content is so important even to the most successful bloggers. I know blogging takes time and dedication but the end result is so worth it.

I guess the idea of blogging can be far easier the the reality of actually owning a blog. I see so many people come and go within the blogosphere it’s not even funny.

It always amazes me how people think blogging is easy and they will have no problems creating new and fresh contest of a regular basis. Soon after starting the sudden realization of owning a blog shines through and ideas of new content start drying up.

I’m not going to suggest ways to keep new topic ideas coming you can simply search that on Google and find many interesting and entertaining topics.

What I am telling you is blogging is hard and finding new content on a daily basis can become the largest of obstacle for bloggers of all kinds.

Perhaps before you start blogging you should look at what other successful bloggers are doing within your desired niche and see if it’s something you will be able to accomplish.

Like this title states maybe you should think twice before you start blogging.
